Ok, will you start a thread about UFOs then? Why are you so mad?

My guy, you've complained about it multiple times...it's clearly working you up. I'm not upset, if the powers that be require me to start a new thread, i guess i will. Why you heff be mad?

Is there some additional information or corporate connection you'd like to disclose as to why you are so dismissive of the topic?

Can we talk about Richard Dreyfuss abandoning his wife and young children at the end of Close Encounters to board the alien ship to probably get anally probed and put in a zoo? And it's considered a happy ending? Pretty selfish and uncaring, if you ask me. The aliens play 5 notes on an alien keyboard, and he tells his family to f*** off.

None of the "protagonists" come off well in that film.

Melinda Dillon had her son stolen, and she just wanted him back. She didn't see the aliens come out of the ship and immediately look up orphanages in the yellow pages. It's really just Richard Dreyfuss' character. Even Spielberg knows he's an asshat.

In a 2005 interview, Spielberg stated that he made Close Encounters when he did not have children, and if he were making it today, he would never have had Neary leave his family and go on the mother ship.

Still a great movie. Show it to The Child and ask her if she would leave you for aliens.

Melinda let her kid play in the street on a blind curve.

The flash flooding can be dangerous. Probably the main fear for driving. Some heavy bands expected between now and 11 here in Philly and up north. Imagine if this was snow.....but instead my snowblower is rusting in the garage.

Bro, they are so soft nowadays. Member when we had to make bows and arrows from whittling twigs, or create our own toys from those helicopter maple seedlings?

As kids in the 80's...we used to be out all day until dusk playing and making up games. We only stayed in during bad weather events and played Atari, Intellivision, Colecovision and Nintendo.

It was still what I consider a light rain at the time.

Until you realize it was Richard Dreyfuss.

People are so week these days. We’re at karate and the sensai asked if people were afraid to come to class today. More than half of the kids didn’t come.
Because of rain. At an indoor activity.
Sounds about right. They close schools up here if we have a few inches of snow on the ground. Can’t have kids going out on the snow and cold now can we.
Back in my youth (yes that’s a long time) our school superintendent had a rule. If he could get out of his driveway our town has school.

Nah this is a borderline hurricane We've got 80mph gusts.
Pfft we went to school during the blizzard of 78. Suck it up buttercup

It gon' rain.
You're back! Was wondering where you've been. Good to see ya again. The wind and rain here is insane. It's wicked out there @VladDrag. Just sitting here in the dark, looking out the window, at the sky lighting up from all the transformers popping. Looks like we're going to get hit pretty good around 9:30-10, then it should be over.

THAT was a hell of a blizzard. I was in sixth grade and had to walk a mile in snow up to my cinnamon ring.
