I suspected I had one for months....slow leak was annoying but waited anyway till my inspection. There's a screw in my tire and it's leaking but I'm feeling very positive about it

And suddenly I'm eight years old again.
Perfect scenario for a good reaming lesson.Mine is holding steady at 19 psi cold and 21 warmed up, but I get to teach The Child how to patch now
Go Little C Dub Go!The three month old is about to board an airplane for the first time. Been at the airport since 9 and she's been absolutely perfect, let's hope it continues for the plane ride

Bless your heart...The three month old is about to board an airplane for the first time. Been at the airport since 9 and she's been absolutely perfect, let's hope it continues for the plane ride
Was about to drop some "Ok, Boomer" stuff here (although, "technically," I am not a Boomer), but I'll abstain.
Instead, I'll yell at the clouds as to why they are not called UFOs anymore. "UAP" sounds like a computer function.
UAP stands for "unidentified anomalous phenomena," a catch-all term to describe objects detected in the air, sea and space that defy easy explanation.

Let him in from the deck and he immediately stole my seat. While sitting like a human.
Tighten itThere's a screw in my tire and it's leaking but I'm feeling very positive about it
Oh good, you're you again.Tighten it
Tighten it
Some chewed up Hubba Bubba gum may help prevent leakage...
That's a thing I'd considered. It didn't lose any air on the 43 mile drive to work, so it's a slow leak. Screw plugs it well. Might have drained overnight because the cold made things shrink up. In theory as long as the screw stays I'll just inflate it as needed for the next 25-35k miles. So...why not just crank it in tighter?
But, it is a teaching opportunity. So I guess I'll do it right.
If it’s not flush, tighten it. It’ll leak but it’s better than possibly breaking off while driving and having a gaping hole.

Close to flush is better than 1/2” hanging out. Unless it’s kinda tucking in the tire threads. It's a little angled, I think. Won't go flush.
Eh, I plan on patching anyway

The threaded part of the screw is thicker than the shaft by the screw head so less air will escape.
I’ve patched many tires. I don’t even bother taking the wheel off at this point if I don’t have to.
