I remember back in the day we had our VCR on our upstairs TV. After street hockey a couple of times I invited some of my friends to watch movies afterwards. I popped in Revenge of the Nerds and the movie Blaze. When the nudie scenes came on, my mom started castigating me in Italian.....my friends had a jolly good time. If aliens are visiting this planet they should do a hell of a better job of making an appearance or not making one at all. Any kind of civilization with the technology to travel at the speed of light should make light work of any sort of technology the US has.

Saw a story a couple days ago from Pittsburgh



Guy visited the animal shelter to surrender his cat and was told the facility was full and had a wait-list, but they gave him a list of other possible places. He left the cat in a carrier in the bushes outside the shelter and it was found a couple hours later.

It's fur was super matted. Looking at the more 'premium' nature, going to guess someone went to a breeder and got a cat and then decided the upkeep on a cat that needs to be regularly groomed was too much.

If you've got above ground lines and trees then you're always going to be one particular storm away from losing power for a week or weeks. My parents never got a generator because they were ungodly loud back then, but they're so quiet now you might as well if you can afford it and are at any risk of long term power loss
