I'm stupid but I'm going down the rabbit hole of Magic The Gathering because they have this Lord of the Rings set coming out 6/23. Some of the card art is really cool and my IRL best bud would love them. Other issue is idk if I can make him wait until Christmas to open it up. The freaking Collector's Box is like $370.
He used to collect them and play as a little kid. But I think this would just be for the art. He's a huge Tolkien fan.Is he ever going to play the game or is this just for the art?
I can find out what supply is supposed to be like and if they’ve committed to more than one print run.
This speaks volumes considering the source. What colossal f***ing morons.

If you do find out the print run that would be much appreciated Jojo. You've got a lot of cool connects.
Did you see the 1/1 One Ring card has a bounty of $1 mil by some company? I can't remember the company I'd have to look it up. The bounty runs until mid July or somethingI'm stupid but I'm going down the rabbit hole of Magic The Gathering because they have this Lord of the Rings set coming out 6/23. I think my IRL best bud would have a fun time opening packs. Unless somehow the collector's booster shoots up in value on the resale market, then he won't open it.Source: Guy who owns one of the largest stores on the East Coast.
More of these are supposed to be made than the Warhammer set. It scared everyone because it was super hard to find. There will be a second printing in the Fall according to WotC. Pre-orders started sky-high due to interest. They’re still high, but have come down a bit. Since you mentioned the Collector’s Boosters, distribution cost on boxes was ~290 USD. That gives you a rough idea of the floor on those.

Packs are fun to open. I can’t put a monetary value on that for you. If a Collector’s Box is just under 400, you might even be able to find better value in buying a full set. That’s if you don’t care about the Extended Art and/or Foil versions. Or just buy a copy of all of the main characters and/or moments so that you don’t end up paying $40 for a very good game card of a generic Orcish Bowmasters. Singles usually come down in price after launch unless they get super popular in the actual game.
There are also the Art cards that only come in Set Boosters. They end up selling dirt cheaply on the secondary market since they’re not game cards. These might be a little more because they’re Tolkien, but you can often find them for 2-5 cents/card. Or you can go even bigger and buy prints of some of the art he might like from the set. Part of their pay is that MTG artists get to sell them. You can figure 8x10 will run you roughly $20, double that to $40 for a 12x16, or all the way up to $80 for an 18x24.

I saw all the art work for the set. I'm still trying to figure out which cards come in which packaging. Stuff is confusing. It's easier in Pokemon because every pack has a chance for every card.
Saw on MTG Goldfish that buying all the cards individually is cheaper, it's the same way in Pokemon. But it's just an early Christmas gift idea, I usually let my IRL best bud fend for himself. Got him a bunch of Star Trek figures from The Danbury Mint, he's still missing like 4 because I couldn't find them on eBay that year. Just got him the TMNT Universal monsters from NECA. Only got him Donatello and Michaelangelo for his birthday. Told him the rest were kind of meh and it was up to him to finish collecting them.
I remember I-95 running straight down NJ into Delaware to get to Maryland ... to take the Penn highway or whatever side road to cut over to Philly. Am I way off with my memory? Or was the route through DE a different road that was faster ?
Thanks for the reply. It has been around 20 years ago since I drove down there. After I posted I vaguely remembered switching to a different road then getting back on 95.95 goes down NJ and then turns to go past Philly on the PA side of the Delaware River, but there is still a stretch of highway that goes straight down as describe in your post. Once 95 breaks towards Philly, the road in NJ turns into 295 until they meet up again in Delaware where it goes back to 95.
