anyone have any suggestions for not quite entry-level turntable? realistically i have a tuner and table down in the dining room of the house, but i do not atm have room for it up in my bedroom so i am looking for something a little more less of a footprint for the time being

Depends on your definition of "not quite entry-level" but...

Fluance RT-82 would be my recommendation. I did a lot of research before buying mine a few years ago. Have absolutely loved it. Comes with a quality tonearm and Ortofon cartridge and has an Optical Speed sensor, which the lower models of Fluance don't have. You can also upgrade the cartridge down the line if you so choose.. Comes in a sleek walnut or piano black finish. I have the walnut.

If that's around your price point, give up the search and go with that lol

What are you doing for Amp and Speakers?
i have 2 old speakers that i am using mostly atm for placing things on top of lol though i would prefer to have again..something smaller just cause of limited real estate in the room

You'll need a Receiver with a Phono Input to connect the turntable and speakers to. You can usually get one off local marketplaces fairly cheap (under $100). Something like a Sony or Yamaha won't break the back. Neither will a vintage Technics. I was using a beautiful 1972 Marantz 2230 for the last few years but it's out of commision at the moment as I look for a repair shop. Currently using a mid 2000's era Yamaha in the meantime.

You could also buy a new pair of speakers with an amplifier built in, rather than buying a Receiver. Won't give you the best possible sound quality but will do the job.

If your Sony receiver doesn't have a Phono Input (not all do), you can buy a phono pre-amp for around $20 to make that work. I have to do that with my back-up Yamaha receiver. Just connect turntable into pre-amp and then connect pre-amp into any available Red/White audio jack on the receiver.

No problem!

I had surgery (Vitrectomy) on a total retina detachment in my right eye last Tuesday. Thankfully, the surgery went well and I’m able to go back to work this coming Monday. The retina detachment was from residual trauma from emergency eye surgery I had in July 2005. A piece of concrete lodged itself in my right eye when I was breaking up a patio with a jackhammer (it found its way under my glasses/goggles the pesky bastard).

I hope none of you guys ever have to get this surgery. From last Tuesday (post-surgery) through tonight, I’ve had to have my head down for 50 minutes for every hour when I’m awake. I’ve had to sleep on my stomach face down too. My back and neck are going to be so happy once I’m done with this tomorrow morning.
I got hydraulic cement powder in my eyes when I was younger. Hurt like a bitch, couldn’t see at all. The homeowner came out with a bucket or pot or something full of water.
The water mixing with the powder in my eyes was the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life.
Eye injuries suck. I hope you have a speedy recovery bud.

Don’t you need two turntables and a microphone?

Glad you got it fixed, my friend.

When I was a kid, my dad had to have an emergency intravitreal injection while he was awake to save his eyesight long enough to get to the ER. I can still hear the screams. I can't even imagine getting that shit in your eye. Is your sight ok now?

Yeah. I got most of it out bobbing for apple style dunking my head into that pot for what felt like an hour. Then the next day went to an eye specialist. He put some neon yellow dye in my eyes and used basically a dental pick to pluck out dried flecks of cement. None of it stuck on the pupil and stuff, just the white part, the sclera.
Thank god it didn’t because my hearing is f***ed.

Someone putting a small tool like a pick near my eyes would freak me out. My mom has a degenerative retina condition and is slowly going blind and they give her a shot in the eye to slow it down. There is no way in hell I could handle that.

This guy....

Of course his lauch site didn't have a trench or system to help with the debris...

Mr. Roesch, who runs the environmental policy blog ESG Hound, said he believed the dust and debris came largely from a giant crater formed during the rocket’s liftoff. Normally, major launch sites are engineered with a trench or water system that helps to divert the rocket’s flame away from the ground and to dampen the impact, he said.

“They didn’t do that,” he said. “It appears they just went ahead and just launched this thing.”

Neither SpaceX nor the F.A.A. immediately responded to questions about the dust and debris on Thursday evening.

Ms. Almaguer, the Port Isabel resident, said that while Elon Musk’s venture had brought jobs to an economically distressed region, the brown muck covering her city was a reminder of the environmental downsides and a sign that things had gotten out of hand. “The locals here are just being sacrificed,” she said.

“He just wanted to get this thing up in the air,” Ms. Almaguer said of Mr. Musk. “Everybody else sort of be damned.”
