Alright HF crew. I’m going out on a limb here and looking to see if anyone has gone to a monster truck rally “recently”. They’re playing the commercials on tv since it’s coming to the linc in about two weeks. My boys stand up and stare at it in awe and I’m wondering how it is and what the best experience for them would be(seating, getting to look at the trucks up close, whatever the hell else might exist that I have no idea about)
it's been a long time..and i went to indoor ones..but take some ear protection just in case...i would think it shouldnt be a huge issue outside..but always good to be prepared

I've never been to one of those, obviously, but I did have to cover an auto race on a dirt track once. The f***ing pellets and clods of dirt were shooting up from the tires and reaching the stands. So don't sit TOO close, just in case. You can't afford to take any more strikes to the head.

I went a couple years back at the Prudential Center. Was a nightmare there, not sure how it was anywhere else. It was during COVID so it could be a little different now, but they had only one entrance and so even though we paid for the VIP early access we missed basically the entire thing because it took like nearly two hours to get in through (again, that was during COVID so presumably these places won't have one single door to get in). Once inside, it was NOT like it looked on TV. The area was the size of a hockey rink and basically all they did was drive in circles. My son didn't like the loud noise so we left early. Definitely wouldn't do it again unless it was an outdoor event like at the Linc or Meadowloands. The VIP early access thing we got wasn't worth it either, basically there were a couple trucks and they are behind metal gates and you take pictures, but you couldn't touch them or get real close or anything so you basically are just paying extra money to see the trucks but not touch them haha.

Thanks man. Do you think it’s better to sit on the second level or lower level at something like this?

I just finished the road. That was a pleasant, short, easy, read.
I will say though, Cormac’s writing style seems like it was written in Croatian and google translated to English. I don’t remember how many words I had to look up only for there to be no definition.

Of course automerge gets me again. f*** you automerge.

This is some professional level basking. He's facing the door so if you do anything dumb he can just life his head up, give you a look, and put it right back down. But, most importantly, check out his little hinder. He's got it turned perfectly turned so his feet are juuuuuuuuust on the edge of the shadow, ensuring that his entire body is within the sunlight.

That is a very good boy and I want to give him some ear scritches.
And he's only 8 months old. Such potential

Hard to say. We were second level front row so we had a great view of everything. Not sure how the view would have been from the first level. If you or your kids don't like loud noise though, it is VERY loud so I'd recommend ear protection for sure if that's not your thing.

They do have some over the ear, ear protection that I would bring if we go.
I’m still debating on it, it’s on a long busy day.

Anybody else experiencing shitty seasonal allergies? It's the worst I have experienced.
Whole family has had some type of sinus thing for the last two weeks.

My son tested positive for Parainfluenza, My daughter it was really just a cough. I've had this really bad head cold for and its clogging my ears. Just popped a sudafed and drinking a monster...my heart may explode but atleast i'll be able to hear?

30 is a huge, huge underestimation.

Kinda related - not sure what is happening/changing, but Russian trolls (and some Latvian ''experts'' that are visibly paid by Kremlin [I don't think they just suddenly lost all their brain cells] - they're going totally nuts on social media. Lots of provocations. Theoretically could be just a result of RU being unhappy re: FI NATO membership, but I'm wondering whether there's more behind this.

Yeah I think it is a head cold with possibly a sinus infection and allergy combo. I have been blowing out some serious "shnots" for 5 days. Even see some blood. I hope this doesn't persist. My head feels like its gonna explode. Ears mildly clogged right now but do have a headache. Sucks....I am trying to plan a date for Sat and also don't want to feel like shit for Easter.

I may be going too much conspiracy but I’d guess it’s this combined with the attempt to exploit the governmental changes in Finland (former leading party ending up 3rd in the election, the PM leaving the front seat of that party) or maybe… didn’t Latvia make army duty mandatory again not so lang ago? I might be mixing up some news but I’d guess the kremlobots are trying to react to all these things

Latvia literally just did it, yes; but let's face it - immediate impact will be zero. Re: FI government change, all non-marginal FI parties are extremely anti-Russia/Putin. It really doesn't matter which one you pick. Finns don't mess around w this topic.

Well. I can tell Russia / Zakharova don’t give a f***. Mayor of one of the smaller parts of Prague (Řeporyje / Pavel Novotny) revealed a monument to the Vlasov units from WWII a while ago, Zakharova went ballistic, Novotny (former tabloid journalist) started to troll them even further with vulgar shouts of Reporyje declaring war on Russia with his one battle tank (gardening cart) and the Russian Channel One made it one of the biggest issues of that time. Google it, worth it. Russia doesn’t give a f*** about impact, all they care about is perceived danger, no matter the real impact or how absurd it is

I will absolutely google it, if only because of the garden cart reference, haha

These ratings remind of food establishments that advertise themselves as "Best in the World" "World's Best" ...Pizza, Cheesesteaks etc.

I would ding these neighborhoods more heavily for affordability. I'm not saying it's more important than crime, for example, But once they get past those initial filters, affordability should be higher on the list than say, climate, for example, if the average person cannot afford to live there. I could not find the weight each category was given, but, if the categories were weighted equally, I'd say it is a seriously flawed survey. Now, some may say one person may value a category highly (i.e. Schools) while another may not, but I would suggest accessibility to live in that area, based on regional median income (for example, borough, county, or state) should factor in more significantly.
