Great W tonight and tho I voted for the King, Buch and Fox as my 3 stars, I gotta say that our sandpaper boy Lemieux is impressing me more and more each game he plays.

He showed bits and pieces last year when we got him from Winnipeg but he's really emerged lately into more than just a grinder type guy. The boy has skills. I never realized how fast and quick he was with the puck and he really does have some serious offensive game.

He's our "Tom Wilson" Lite minus the slew foots and cheap ass shit. I'm so impressed with him and think he's going to be and integral piece of this team going forward and I hope and pray Gorton and JD do what it takes to sign him up after the year to a multiple year deal where he remains a Ranger for many years going forward.

He's slowly but surely becoming one of my favorite Rangers...love love his game...

so mad I missed Henrik being an absolute beast. eff you, night shift.

Spoiler Free NHL Highlights (it's DTMTS, or Don't Tell Me The Score) .com

If you didn't know of it, thank me later. I don't even use it to not see scores, I use it because it's hands down the best condensed replays of games. Full HD, home announcers, around 9 mins long with all of the best sequences and replays, no dumb commentary of someone talking over it. Just pure game.

It's how I watch most games, and it's great to watch good games of other teams too. So usually I'll just spend 30-60 mins on there watching the best of the night.

Can we get a heat map of where those shots came from?

This coaching staff is awful. The amount of shots this team lets up every game is a joke. Look at what the Islanders coach has done for their team defense. Quinn is in over his head. Lias needs to be moved away from this coach, given a full year in the AHL with a ton of minutes. Gorton needs to do his job and rid the team of Smith and Staal by any means necessary. They both stink. Staal is incredibly bad. Trouba isn't lighting it up either. You watch Lindgren race in to get the puck in his own zone and quickly make a play every time. Staal and Trouba slow down going for the puck. look behind them, let the forward push them in the back and lose the puck half the time. They do this over and over and over. Pathetic. I've stated for years how dumb AV was not valuing tough, stay at home defenseman. A perfect example is Ryan Graves who now is second on the Av's in +/- now that he has gotten a chance. Lindgren should not be scratched another game all season if he plays like this.

The future of this team is in deep trouble with this head coach. He's clueless. He plays favorites and constantly makes bad coaching decisions. This team can't even execute simple things like covering the high slot or the points.

I agree on everything. Except for the Tom Wilson stuff. Don’t get me started on Wilson. But Lemieux reminds me of a human version of Sean Avery :)

I feel like the shot tracking was off. Carolina had their moments but the Rangers owned large swathes of the second and were fine in the first too. Though I didn’t see the whole first period. But it just seems to me those numbers are wrong. Who tracks shots?

If Hank did not go into brick wall mode this team gets embarrassed again. How many more putrid defensive efforts before the organization wakes up and recognizes this style of play is unsustainable?

But hey a win is a win!

Kreider will start the day tomorrow firing pucks at the side of a barn.

Better not put a pitch fork in front of the barn— he may try to stick handle around it.

He’d probably miss the barn even without the pitchfork though.

Hysterical that he wears the “A” for this team...

Canes broadcast started the evening mentioning how Hank loves playing the Canes in their building which can be a scary thing. Needless to say the broadcast was one of constant incredulity and amazement. And they were solid too, not very homerish at all

Nope. Canes dominated the first. Rangers had a few moments in the second where they possessed the puck. Canes owned 70% possession for the game. If it weren't for Hank and the Canes shooting at the bullseye on Hanks chest too many times, this game is a blowout.

They have really improved over the years. After 2006, their broadcast became unwatchable with the ridiculous homerism. When the team went bad, the broadcast quality went up. Probably didn't have to pander to bandwagoners and other casual drive-bys any more.

My biggest gripe with them last night was the shots they were taking at Fox.

By the way, after watching the gif very closely a hundred times, the 3rd goal was definitely Chytil.

57 seconds into this video:

Keep replaying it and you can see Chytil's stick redirect Buchnevich's wrap. That's why he went first in the fist bump line to the bench. He wouldn't have done that unless he knew.

I think it banks off the skate of mrazek and that’s the little change of direction. But if Chytil isn’t there tying up the dman’s stick and digging it probably gets swatted away

because of his effort I was hoping he got it myself
