It's called a tease.Bro what is even happening lmaoooooooooo
I mentioned that... I specifically mentioned Berube and that's an outlier. That's Not the typical result. It's not rational to fire a winning coach at this point. The fact that Sullivan has had such a long shelf life after b2b cups is another point in my favor that when coaches win at this level, you don't just throw them away after a few challenging seasons. So we just roll on the way we have been for the past three years, is that what you want to see? And there is nothing rash about it, it is completely rational. You say it never works, but I'm pretty sure STL did that very thing right around this time of year with a lineup no better than the Bolts current line-up and won a Cup. Berube had only been an interim NHL head coach before and for less than a full season at that so it can work, that too is a fact.
I'm not sure how Mike Sullivan is relevant. Pittsburgh could have missed the playoffs the past two seasons just as easily without him and hasn't been past the first round in six years. That's where we're headed and that's my point, I don't care how great the coach may have been (Coop has a great record of success, as does Sullivan. Both of them have had generational talent to work with. Multiple HOFs. they should have succeeded) there comes a time when trying something else makes perfect sense. And Berube is not some outlier, Knoblach just last year was an in season change and EDM went to the finals. If there is a good lineup to work with it is as likely to work as not. I don't get the unflinching allegience. You still want Stammer and his -41 overr the past 100 games too?I mentioned that... I specifically mentioned Berube and that's an outlier. I was not able to watch the game. Was Vasy bad or defense bad. Hard to win giving up 4 goals in first two periods.
worth noting the deflection was less than a foot out from the crease and went five hole... vasy has to have that. 2nd goal was at the top of the circle, honestly should have been saved but I can live with it going in.1st goal was a deflection
2nd goal a guy was allowed to walk to the hashmarks for a grade A chance
3rd goal was bad. Perfect shot by Robertson but Vasy gave him the corner
4th goal was a turn around hail mary by Tavares that went to the one place Vasy wasn't.
Nothing egregious to complain about but this is the line more often than not.
Cooper knows how to win and better than any coach in the league.
the problem is that the core is getting older. Kucherov probably won't even re-sign. He's very competitive and won't waste his time on a mediocre team. The defensemen can barely move their legs anymore. so what's the point in thinking about 2027.There's nothing to indicate that Cooper can make something competitive out of this roster.. So, whoever you want probably isn't the coach by 2026/7 if we start doing that.
Doesn't sound like a coaching problem, but a personnel one. Cooper isn't going anywhere, and there's no one out there that JBB would seriously consider replacing him with that's any better.the problem is that the core is getting older.
