I think I've been pretty clear. Fire Coop. Bring in a ball buster and see if some cages get rattled. What's the downside if this is the trajectory we're on anyway?
Bring in a ball buster... who?
I'm not on the fire Cooper train at all. I dont know what you want him to do when half his forward group is allergic to scoring and are redundant pieces. Nothing in half the forward group moves the needle. The reunion of McD and Cernak isn't panning out the way we had hoped. Our goaltending is underwhelming and that's probably being kind.
Cooper knows how to win and in the end that's what is important. Of course messages go stale but we've also depleted too many winners from this roster that were leaders in unique ways. It's a lousy, mediocre team that has no identity whatsoever apart from "Nikita Kucherov." Our special teams aren't even a strong point anymore. That's not Cooper, that's the reality of the salary cap and JBB taking fliers on low risk guys that aren't providing shit.
Girgensons, Atkinson, Sheary, Eyssimont, Glendening, Goncalves, and Chaffee aren't going to help you get over the top. These guys aren't leaders and apart from Eyssimonts heart (which doesn't equal goals), Glendenings faceoffs and Chaffee's potential, that group is ass.
