This team spends so much time in neutral/shell mode that the second they have to open up they just completely fall apart because they haven't practiced in game speed how to maintain any form of structure beyond a snail's pace in years

No shots on goal in the first 12 minutes of the 3rd period is just not a good strategy. I don't know why they haven't learned this lesson yet.

Hard to look at this game by itself. I'm still salty about the Columbus game, and so this felt like a game you had to get 2 to make up for not getting 2 in Columbus. Parts of this game are perfectly fine but there's others where you shake your head because we shoot ourselves in the foot consistently. Dallas is a good team, so tip your hat to them, but 2-2 going into the 3rd you just need a better effort all together and it wasn't good enough

The forward depth isn’t there we need at least two more top 9 forwards

Started strong again and got progressively worse from there. This has happened way too many times this season.

McDonagh and Cernak have been dog shit the last couple of games. It's not a surprise we've given up 11 goals in two games when the best defensive pairing doesn't defend. Like what was McDonagh doing on that third goal? You don't try to make that pass in a tied game in the third period. He's experienced enough to know that. You're not Kucherov.

Didn't get to see the game on replay because it was blacked out here. Watched the highlights and looks like we lost from a couple McCernak gaffes. I'm sure there is more to it than that, but two pinches and Hedman looking geriatric for a follow up breakaway wasn't what I had in mind for our defense 20 games in.

There is no way with our talent on paper that we are this inconsistant. Maybe some of the issue is the moving parts over the summer and fitting new guys in along with a new captain, thus deveolping chemistry is a work in progress. Not that its a bad thing neccesarily because I think we have a better roster than last year but there will be a learning curve.

I think we are at least 2 years away from becoming what the Penguins are right now so there is time and hopefully wont be too late to see it through.
