Tampa is still very much a contender. A couple of bad games means little. Many teams have bad stretches. It's been less than a quarter of a season. As is the.norm around here, the usual doom.amd gloom naysayers can't help themselves when anything goes wrong though.

You keep pace with the doom and gloomers, continually talking about us being a contender mentioning only "the last couple bad games" and ignoring the turnover, decline and poor performance the last couple years.

Think the Lightning are 8-7 in regulation and 2-2 in OT. That’s 19 games of pretty mid level stuff. Playoff contender, sure. Cup contender, which is all that matters for the Lightning at this stage? Doesn’t seem that way, but they are allowed to get better.

Everyone talks about the bottom 6 and I get that, but Point Kuch Guetzel need to dominate. So many resources put into that line and early on I thought they had a chance to be the best line in hockey. Need to get back to that…..soon.

The biggest dissapointment for the year has been special team play easily. Bottom 6 we knew will be hard to compete. Defense has been above average in my eyes top 6 is there but streaky.

One less than stellar season. Vasy had a bad series two years ago, but the team was still very capable of going on a run. It must be very difficult for most on here who only seem happy and fueled when the team loses.

What's crazy to me is that we are somehow middle of the pack on the PP, 14th overall, while the PK is at 22nd. Feels like those rankings should be flip flopped but I probably have a warped perception because of how good we were last season.

I think everyone realizes that we’re not at the same level we were a few years back, that now we’re a decent middling-to-good team.

There’s no reason to keep repeating how we’re not leading cup contenders anymore after every loss, as if you’re somehow being prophetic.

You can tell from the regular season who's a serious contender? Is that why the president's trophy winner always does so well in the playoffs?
