Buch now got a secondary assist on that goal in OT.
Looking over the replay, after Fox deflected the puck off of Malkin, Buch went into the corner with him and tipped his pass back to the middle and Fox went the other way with it.
That's the kind of things that Buchnevich is now doing that is getting him on the ice in important situations. He would not have been out there for 3 on 3 at this time last season.
I have no idea how Buchy missed that brilliant set up from Chytil. Chytil faked out the whole building sliding that pass over. Should have been a lay up
I feel like I can't figure out the replay of what happened there. Not sure if he shanked it, someone blocked it, the puck bounced, or what.
Panarin wiffed on a wide open chance earlier too I seem to recall
Maybe I'm not seeing it as good enough bc I literally just had the same thing happen where I read about an amazing Kravtsov assist (Only to find he just threw it to a guy who was wide open bc of terrible defense and the guy walked in on the goal.)I think the pass too, was perfect. It's was just slow and fast enough to get past Schultz (?) but not past Kakko. With a sell too. Fox didn't look to Kakko once he turned to the middle of the ice, as to fake the D out: "take me, I don't see my guy on the left." Psyche!
I agree, Fox and KK showed tremendous smarts in setting the whole thing up.
I watched the OT goal replay again and, wow... serious case of Malkin controller disconnection there.
Couldn't happen to a nicer player.

I still feel like it's a good pass, maybe great bc of the not looking him off bit. But amazing? I feel like you have to get it past a bunch of traffic and lay it perfectly on a guys stick with little margin for error. That's around my criteria for being an amazing NHL pass. The pass we saw here should be made, you're aiming at a spot in front of Kakko and letting him just tip it without really having to avoid traffic too much. Not to **** on the play as a whole I just think the pass aspect got overrated
And all we mostly hear on the boards around here is how he can't finish, isn't a consistent scorer, is weak on the puck on the boards (not even remotely true anymore) and makes dumb plays (everyone does... even Panarin sometimes!) etc. Such bias with him it's crazy. He got here too weak due to an injury prior to his arrival and it's been 'weak lazy Russian' since and it's starting to piss me off.Buch now got a secondary assist on that goal in OT.

Hanging out with Kreider too much.I feel like I can't figure out the replay of what happened there.
We’re 5-1-1 without Mika. Not too shabby.
I would agree, but the impact that making the playoffs has on a team (especially a young one) cannot be underestimated. Playoffs = morale boost = confidence in play = progression. At least in my opinion.I'd rather them look good and not make it then sneak it an get annihilated. We are still talking 2-3 more years in the build.
Well, whenever a guy is cold or snakebitten, I would like to see him try to impact the game in a different way. And he's doing that with his playmaking.watching highlights.
buchnevich should have had 3 goals
guy cant finish
I can't believe we still have another year left in 2020-21 for Marc Staal. Holy **** how is that even possible the guy just never goes away and we already have $7.5M in buyout dead money from Shattenkirk & GirardiEvery single point in this game from rookies or veterans who are part of the future. Hopefully we get a high draft pick but you have to love a game like this. This was the best game of the season because of that.

Matthew Barnaby was right to gush over Adam Fox when the Rangers acquired him. I know many of us knew he was a fantastic talent but I did not expect this level of poise in his game so quickly
Just pointing out that nowhere did I remotely say that you have to get it through 5 guys.I feel like most "amazing passes through all 5 defenders" are more luck than real amazing. most of the time you're lucky it gets through and isn't intercepted. Sure you still gotta try it sometimes but passing it through a bunch of players is hard as hell and maybe only someone like Panarin I've seen is actually good at it.
Zucc used to throw prayers through the middle of the ice all the time and most of them got picked off easily but every once and awhile one would sneak through and we'd all say "wow what a pass!"

I disagree..I don't think they will make the playoffs but if they did, that will give the kids a taste of what it takes to get there and even more so what it takes to be successful.
That's also where I think veteran leadership becomes really important.

Getting it up and over the active stick of one player and past another player is difficult but not pure luck and that's all I mean when I say "Bunch of traffic".
Maybe an active stick and pair of legs or 2.
I get the feeling I disagree strongly with most people's definition of "amazing".
To me hitting a wide open guy a few feet away in this situation where the defenders stick is out of the passing lane fails woefully short of being an amazing pass.
Great overall play bc of the positioning and all.
Again this is criteria for the pass specifically being amazing, not mind blowingly top 10 for the year

Yeah, and imagine there's no heaven. Mom and Dad should have named him Sylvester.Imagine if we were sitting around vaguely keeping up with him in college this year wondering if he’ll decide to sign with the Rangers in August
Think you left out Zbad. Honestly, I think Mike is a better all around player. Regardless.Hank/Georgiev/Panarin trio may get us into the playoffs... for better or for worse
