we’ve seen this story so many times with him. He’s so so bad. He turns the whole game over. You can’t win with a guy like this. Even the MC David goal it’s off a shot thst hits the post first from a bad angle because he’s sitting on the goal line and gets beat. If he gloves that whistle blows plays dead.

he just has his team running around constantly because he’s swimming and praying out there the whole night. Even in the first period he was just getting lucky mostly

Because he does a lot of shit no one on this team does like kill penalties effectively, win important faceoffs once in a while and he is actually on pace for over 40 points while having zero pp time. He is definitely not the problem on this team.
I just don't think any of those attributes of his work in overtime 3 on 3.

Defense was pretty damned bad. This would have been one of those "steal and run away fast" wins if Igor was in net and pulled it off. And another poster said it before, Edm goalie was even worse.

Defense was bad indeed. Liked the play in the Edmonton end. Chytil was excellent getting consistent ice before the refs started calling penalties. I thought he was very effective using his body. Maybe time to give him some top six time. Strome has been pretty ineffective.

Name one big save Georgiev made. I missed a couple of minutes in the third period and I didn't see one. He gave up 4 terrible goals. This would not have been anywhere near a heist. Much closer to the Winnipeg game than the Leafs game. Lots of shots, few amazing chances. The defense was not nearly as bad as you make it out to be. Georgiev single handedly lost us this game.

Focusing on the wrong things man. If the team doesn't IMPROVE and when this year progresses and things start to average out, it won't be because of Geo either way. The entire team doesn't feel good about themselves in the room right now.

Regardless of where they’re playing or who they’re playing with they should be expected to at the very least be noticeable. Lafreniere and Kakko respectively have been among the worst players of all time at their draft positions of 1st overall and 2nd overall. Just absolute jokes. When will we be allowed to actually call them out? Lafreniere was touted as a AM34/Eichel level talent. Kakko was touted as a Laine level talent (was actually considered better than Laine) both have done Jack shit

Instead of sitting them I’d put them in a position to succeed instead of putting one on the fourth line and stapling the other one to a line he doesn’t work on.

Lafreniere has been handed a spot in the top 6 from the get go and hasn't earned it. Same with Kakko but it's hard to get into the flow of things when you're hurt every 20 games.

Imagine being a single slap shot away in a 4-1 game from having a mental collapse. Team scrambled because they had no faith in Georgiev. The team just buckled because they saw how panicked their goalie was.

The bigger story than the nitwit backup goalie is that it doesn't take that much to throw this team off mentally. You watch them, you know when the big stink is coming. And it's not really that much of a "young team" issue since Laf and Kakko are just taking up roster spaces for now

Winning is gonna cover up a lot of MERDA but if we lose and at same time night after night these kids put up goose eggs then not good.
