He was always going to be a placeholder. His goal is to be here for two or three years and get the next core to actually work their asses off and put good work ethic behind their talent.

And then, they'll move for a coach who can lead a contending team. Like AV was supposed to do, but with actual coaching.

I'd be highly surprised if he lasts the full five years of his contract here. If he does, the rebuild went wrong somewhere.

I think this is a very overlooked point and one that was discussed when people were freaking out about his contract “demands.”

The odds of Quinn being the coach when this team opens its window are pretty slim. He knows this and wanted some security built into his deal. The Rangers know this and were willing to negotiate.

Quinn’s job is going to be to ease several waves of young players into the lineup and help the Rangers determine which guys will be here for the long haul.

That's when the markets for rentals pick up. I mean teams are still figuring out what they have in their system and where they'll be in the standings. Unless someone blows the doors off, I don't think you'll see them moved until the deadline.

The prices are harder to negotiate at this point when GMs still have time to sit and wait but down to the wire last year, a few decent rentals didn't get traded because of the last minute jam up and a few went for way below market value. NYR alone has enough rentals to open a shop. I'd like to see at least 1 get moved before the deadline.

I'm not going to blame Quinn for the lack of offense. This team has to sacrifice offense to not give up 3.5 xG a game.

Quinn's system has been fine. Just not anything special imo.

His usage has been horrendous. But I've pretty much given up on an NHL coach that doesn't hate talented players. It's such scrub club. We need more coaches who were good players.

Hopefully everyone can get out all of their passive aggressive ADA posts in the next few days so things can be readable again.

ADA once again one of our best guys defensively, scored on a pure effort play, was calm with the puck in key spots and put up a solid Apple after a dominate o zone shift....

What else can you ask him to do? Especially when you hypocritically let Marc Staal skate despite being a black hole
How many times do we have to keep saying he was the best defenseman (maybe even player) on the ice before we realize maybe he’s simply a really good hockey player?

Ultimately, Quinn may be judged on what he does with ADA.

It's up to Quinn whether or not that turns into a burnt asset.

He's going to break out somewhere. I hope it's here.

Quinn looks shell shocked after that 4th goal. He'll have to give up his pride and philosophies and just put out the best players at some point.

1st line was so shit today that when Namestnikov got moved up he started sucking too, even though he'd been great until that point. 3rd line was playing well. Died on it's ass when Vesey replaced Names.

Quinn is evidently clueless and picking lines in the dark.

Time to go back to KZB. Zib and Buch play much better in that configuration.

Also SIT MARC STALL FOR f***'S SAKE!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't care less if he equalled Adam Graves for GP or wears an A, he's TERRIBLE. He makes peak Dan Girardi look like Nicklas Lidstrom.

Maybe ADA looks a little lackadaisical or whatever the f*** but clearly he's getting results.

Some guys just aren't animals out there. It doesn't mean they aren't working hard, they're just working different. Brett Hull never skated hard in his life.

I wish coaches stopped trying to make every player Ryan Callahan. But again, most coaches were absolute dumpster fire players so they had to move like Ryan Callahan.

I said it somewhere, I think, but there's only 13 forwards on the roster. Only a finite amount of combinations he can try and throw out there. Eventually, he will figure it out.

Only part of his coaching I haven't liked is is lineup decisions, but the rest is fine. Once he settles on how to do his lineups, the rest will follow and his systems will be bloom, so to speak.

What makes you so confident he cant develop and then lead this team?

DeAngelo looked very good.

People talk about moving Hayes. I'd keep him and move Shattenkirk instead and I think we'd get more for him than for Hayes. I'd send Spooner to the Devils---see if we can get their '19 second rounder. Worked last year with Grabner.

Piss poor backcheck on the game winner but Henrik should have stopped that.

Anyway it's a clusterf*** right now....and I think we're going to get creamed by San Jose.
