I also completely disagree with the assessment that he has 'failed.' Points are not everything and he hasn't been awful just because he isn't scoring.

Moreover, when has he centered our top wingers? I don't recall that ever happening.

I think Howden has been significantly less impactful then him over the last handful of games.

I don't mean "failed" in a negative way. I mean failed to live up to expectations. He's a prospect people are expecting to be a first or second line center. He's got 2 assists in 10 games, and a 7 game pointless streak. Howden is expected to be a 3rd or (elite) 4th line center. He has exceeded expectations. I'm excited for the kid, but we need to remember that he JUST turned 19 years old. Putting too much on him too soon is more likely to doom his future than playing him a game or two between McLeod and Fast.
