I guess agree to disagree. I just don't believe in jump starting someone by putting them on the 4th line. In fact, I'd argue it's the complete opposite. If he wanted to jump start him, why not put him with the best players on the team?
Because he's a teenager who seems a little out of his depth. They tried putting him with top players. They tried putting him on the wing. He's getting inside of his own head. This is a "take off the pressure" kind of move. The other three lines have the pressure to score. It gives him a low stakes game or two in the hope that he can stop thinking the game so much and get back to some of the instincts that make him one of the team's top prospects. If this doesn't work, I wouldn't be surprised to see him sent down. It's not good for a young player to routinely fail to live up to the pressure. It can get in his head, and that's the last thing we need.
