Irish names can be so beautiful but lord help anyone who tries to pronounce them that isn't familiar with the language.

I say this as someone whose wife's name isn't even terribly like Gaelic-irish and I couldn't pronounce it at first either.
Took awhile for me to properly pronounce the Ukrainian names of my girl and her family as well.

Tough to give any opinion re: kid's name as we at first wanted to pick something Estonian [nationality of my hb] [there's so many Estonian male names I love, holy crap] and were also worried about pronounciation factor, but ended up with ''superoriginal'' and not at all international - Leo. :D

Either way, excited to know what you guys come up with - of course, when the time is right. Also, I second sometimes helpless ''uuuhm'' feeling when it comes to Irish name pronounciation; and when you seem to be absolutely sure how that one is pronounced, most of the time you're wrong, because - of course.

I'm not even going to pretend the true gaelic ones are easy. They're an absolute mess. But I feel like in Europe in general it's more forgiving. Here in the states, "weird" names aren't well received unless it's something dumb like North.

Windies are a mess..didnt make it out of the first round in the T20 WC..they've been poor for a while..and since the series is in Australia ..i would put money on the Aussies to win it

NZ is a mess cause they just do not have the talent pool is my guess and keep running out the same meh lineup

I sometimes scroll though floorball junior league boxscores just to see the trends of stupid names. Some are truly baffling.
