Edvinsson is .5ppg as a rookie defenseman in the AHL, Wallinder is the top u21 player in ppg in the SHL, Kasper is 4th and hes only 18, Mazur is tied for 4th in goals for the entire NCAA, Lombardi is 4th in points in the entire OHL, Buchelnikov is the top u20 ppg player in the VHL....Seider won the Calder just last year and Raymond is 4th in u21 scoring in the NHL...people really need to get a grip! The sky is falling, the sky is falling!
Probably the second best drafted prospect in the league after Luke Hughes, nothing to be excited about.

But Mazur is like 28 years old
I know youre being sarcastic, but for those slow people out there, hes 20...and there are NCAA guys out there who are pushing 23-24 easily.

Oh and I mispoke! Hes actually tied for 3rd, not 4th...the one kid has the same amount of goals but has played 2 more games.

Maybe it did; and hit a few people on the head on its way down?

This is old news but he moved up 6 spots in the early 2024 rankings. Here is the blurb on AnJo.

Johansson doesn’t always play with a mean streak, but he is a force to be reckoned with when he does. When he’s not imposing his size on the opposition, he doesn’t take many chances with the puck on his stick. He moves it up to the forward group with a smooth outlet pass, and he usually tries to move it or put it on net in the offensive zone. If he can harness his size and aggression, he has an outside chance of developing into bottom-pairing bully that can be relied on in defensive situations. He’s on a good trajectory, he just needs to maintain it.

Max Bultman($) had a nice callout for AnJo in his recap for the prospect tournament:

Fellow Swedish defenseman Anton Johansson had one particularly notable sequence where he made a hit for a stop in the defensive end, then had a great give-and-go sequence in the offensive zone on the same shift leading to a good scoring chance from the slot. He’s a sleeper prospect from the fourth round in 2022.

Yet he represented Sweden in the 2010 and 2012 World Championships and the 2014 Olympics.
And how many league championships and gold medals did he win?

E was at best a stay at home D man who ran into chronic injury problems and we invested too much term and cap into him.

It not E's fault but he was the perfect incarnation of the decline of the organization.

Jeez, he played 700 NHL games, was forced to play beyond his capabilities in Detroit and represented a top 5 country in several international tournaments. For the record he won bronze in the 2010 WCs and silver in the 2014 Olympics.

I'm guessing he p****d in your Cheerios with how upset you are about his career, it must have been pretty traumatic.

Eriksson was a legit NHLer. His biggest problem was playing as a 2/3 guy when he was way better as a bottom pair guy.

His biggest problem was hip injuries later in the career, so everybody remembers only the bad things and bad era as a whipping boy.

He was a black Ace at 2008 playoffs.

The Red Wiings could really use a prime Jon Ericsson just about now quite frankly. Had he not been injured he could have been Jacob Trouba. He was not afraid to use his body and not afraid to drop the gloves and was strong, his nickname was Thor.

I really think it was his hips that screwed him. I watched him in Grand Rapids and he looked like a stud. Big shot, produced points, very mobile. Even when he first came up to Detroit he looked decent, but it quickly went down hill.
