Bertuzzi
Kurashev-Bedard-Teravainen
Jones

I think that’s the way you set it up if you go Bedard in the bumper. Obviously Kurashev is more of a one timer threat than Teravainen, but if you’re running Bertuzzi/Foligno on the goal line (both lefties) with Bedard in the bumper and Jones up top (both righties) then everything has to flow off of the right half wall, and I’d rather have Teravainen running that. It’s not perfect. But it’s probably mildly better than what they’re doing now

What exactly do you call Seth Jones? Is it correct to call him a below-average 1d? He can eat minutes and do 1d things but he does them worse than the "average" 1d. I don't see a contending team trading for him so he can do 1d things. He just seems to be the prototypical "top-pairing" guy that a bad team would ice.

A waste of talent.

Overpaid #3 trying to make plays but lacks the skill to do it. Forgettable defensively, has a low quality shot for such a big and athletic guy

Seth Jones is just a sunken cost now. I would imagine the best time to try and move him would be the halfway point of his contract, entering the 26/27 season. You could eat 3.5M for the rest of his term and he only costs 6M. You might have to add some draft capital to get rid of the contract though.

I don’t think think you’d have to add anything if you are eating 3.5 million. I would expect something back in that case. I don’t think they would do that anyway.

More likely to me is that they trade him for an underperforming or overpaid forward with a little term.

Best we can hope is he requests a trade sometime soon because he’s sick of the rebuild. Retain 2 million with the rising cap, it’s easily manageable

Overpaid Top-Pair RHD, saying anything else is just hyperbole.

I was trying to come into this season being overly optimistic with Jones…. In no world is he a 2D right now on a good or bad team. 3D sure I’d give you that but that’s far from a compliment with his salary.

Bedard now 4g on last 77 shots over last 25 GP = bit over 5 %shooting..

Overcfirstx11GP this season he is 8.1% 3g on 37 shotscon goal.

He has ZERO P goals this season thru the 11GP.

This is NOT "starring" ...

Troy Murray implied Bedardcpkayonh too perimeter...not getting to the middle skit hogh danger best shooting areas enough..

If hexthinks hexwilk score from the half-wall perimeter, ain't gonna happen in the NHL...he is not lugging the puck to the middle skit best shooting g areas.. not gettibg enough clear breK-awUs...not gettibg thru opps middle cligvdefenses..

He us trying too many oases from the perimeter to try to connect with others in the skit but hevis not Patrick Kane excemjibg on such from the half-wall..
On tge Pp even though he is small...move hom to the bumper ...at least woukd force defenders to worry covering hom and shlukd free others to move to open slot uncovered shooting chances.
Maybe he finishes off their rebounds?

Whatever...Bedard not scoring g goals at sufficiently high enough difference-maker star rate.
Akso Tt, not scoribg.

Means kibez1 is NOT doing what a Libe1 needs to do. .. Score goals and help win goes both 5x5 and on PO...

Cannot win much if kibex1 not consistently producing g offebse ..

a selfish POS who only cares about how many shots he can force through the defense and has no interest in passing the puck to Bedard.

Yeah, hard to disagree really. On his best days he's a #2D on a team with a #1D, on his bad days he's a middle pairing Dman.

Lately all he has is bad days. From shooting at nothing, to questionable pinches, to not giving up puck.

He had a few good games to start the season but the last two weeks or so now he’s been nothing but awful.

I haven't watched much the last week and a bit. He was impressing me in the first handful of games, compared to what I was used to seeing, but sounds like he's right back to where he has been almost his entire Hawk career. Disappointing.
