If he was gonna miss 15 games just say it, I get there is some uncertainty to it but this is rediculous. Who would have though he would miss double the games as Boyle at this moment. Who left on a stretcher. They only hit 2 games thus week. Hopefully the following week he will be good to go

For all his reputation he has of being injury-prone, I wonder how a Havlat vs. Burns injury vs. injury comparison would look like. Even with SJ, it feels like Burns has missed a lot of time. In Minny didn't he miss half a season +?

In contrast, Havlat had a couple of 70+ seasons in Minny, plus he played 40+ games last year and only missed a few this year...

From my vantage point it looks like Havlat's missed 20 games already this season :sarcasm:

Burns has played 83% of his team's games since the 2005 lockout.

Havlat has played about 67% of his team's games since the 2005 lockout.

In teal, Havlat has played 58% of the games whereas Burns has played 79% of the games.

Thats funny. Both players have played below their career %age in SJ. Wow .. Havlat at 58%. That is pretty sad.

Interesting. It probably seems more slanted because Havlat played almost all of last seasons while Burns was out to start last season and is out now...

When Burns missed the start of last season weren't the Sharks also secretive and people were guessing "depression" and "drug abuse"? That's what I remembered. I don't think we ever found out what the problem was and this is another mysterious and secretive Burns injury.

"I didn't ask for this."

Seriously though, that's probably why his butt can commit murder-checks.

Brent Burns “really close,” says Doug Wilson. Chance he plays Thursday vs. Tampa Bay. Up to medical staff. #SJSharks

EDIT:

Curtis Pashelka ‏@CurtisPashelka 2m
Wilson said team is being careful with Burns, keeping an eye on the big picture and taking time to make sure its not an issue going forward

Exactly what I want to hear.

that is a concussion, a nasal problem or whatever other problem has been thrown around here can be fixed with no worries of it happening again in the future.

As much as the team needs Burns, if it's a concussion (which sounds very likely at this point), I'd rather wait until he's 100% for a good while instead of going day-to-day.
