No Chara on the pp, sign me up.

Seriously. They need to limit his overall minutes, and the PP is the first place to do it. We have the personnel that he doesn't need to be used on the point (or in front of the net) anymore. 5v5 and PK. That's all. They need Chara fresh down the stretch. Not falling apart like he has been, recently.

Given insurance obligations, are teams allowed to fly everyone on the same flight or bus still?

Wha? Not sure what you mean, but everyone on the active roster is typically on the same flight, unless there's some emergency that requires a player to fly in solo (ie death in the family, baby, or returning from injury).

There is a contingency plan..this one is from a 2001 article, so it may have been updated.

http://www.sptimes.com/News/092301/Columns/Several_pro_teams_hav.shtml

NHL: If five or more players are killed or disabled, the affected club could restock by buying athletes from other teams, using funds from an indemnity insurance policy. Once the team has a goalie and 14 others (rosters are customarily 20), an emergency rehab draft can be enacted to complete stocking. Other teams could protect a goalie and 10 others.

And of course the P Bruins aren't on the flight. But this isn't like the State of the Union, where the Bruins leave Kiefer Sutherland behind. A KHL team had a disaster moderately recently...in 2010, I think?

If you want to track the charter flights throughout the season, use Fenway's link in the OP, and bump the flight number up by 1 for each flight. If you do it right now, you'll see the tenth flight from LAST season, but they'll update it Thursday night when they fly home.

4 guys out injured before the first puck is even dropped.

I guess we're calling this preseason a complete disaster then.

Well a bunch of young players made the team and look ready to contribute, so I'd say this pre-season was pretty good, some might say outstanding even.

I am just shocked with the amount of money on the line they are all allowed to travel together. Elected officials for example have a limit to how many can be on the same plane. It is done to avoid a catastrophic disaster. If I was the underwriter i'd be asking them to update that policy.

The only injury that hurts is Bergeron, anyway. Kevan? Nope. Adam? Definitely Nope. Austin? Back already, it seems.

I'm glad the Bruins defense won't have 5 guys that handle the puck like a grenade. Now they only have 1.

When it comes to Quader, no injury is too soon. That's what he does, he gets hurt. I also think we're extremely lucky that Bergeron doesn't miss more games with how hard he plays the game.

let`s see how everyone feels after the game or some games if/when the kids make mistakes that cost the B`s points in the standings

I`m one who has no issues with the kids playing but understands while it`s fun to see new blood, youth often brings many mistakes due to inexperience and often will cost a team pts.....we shall see

It feels so good to have Bruins hockey to look forward to tonight!

I am excited to see the kids get a chance. Hopefully Bergy will be ready for Saturday, Julien said he would join them if he was ready, so he isn't missing the whole road trip necessarily.

No doubt expect to see mistakes and hope many will appreciate patience is needed. Its easier to accept youth making mistakes versus watching vets making the same mistakes.

I`d take that bet that fans here will be more patient. I think initially yes, but before too long, they`ll be hammering CJ/DS for putting them in positions to not succeed.

Now............go B`s:yo:

LOL true...should be the best players on the ice...it's that simple. Right now the way the line up is set up it's the best players...Would have been interesting to see the D line up should Miller and McQuaid not be injured. I would expect to see Miller but McQuaid is a ???

One thing I am looking forward to seeing this evening is a D, young as it is, with some solid mobility from all but Z.

As I mentioned, I`m one who has no issues whatsoever with youth being served and understand, there`s a good chance for a bumpy ride in spots

Is this serious?

So, every professional sports organization should have to charter 4 different planes for every away game, so they don't have too many $$$ tied up on one flight?

"It's all brand new and shiny."
This is the bestest day of the year. New season, new beginning nothing but promise. Ton of kids on the roster, hoping for an uptempo, fast based game. Drop the puck already!!
