Having moved from Boston to New Orleans this summer I'll miss seeing the NESN pre and post game shows, but I love that games start an hour earlier.

I have psychologically prepared myself for a crappy start to the season. I want to see the kids play, so I'm okay with the Bruins playing ragged at times.

BOSTON – There are certainly more traditional, historic places to open the season than Columbus, Ohio, but Austin Czarnik thinks it’s an almost perfect place to start his NHL career.

The 23-year-old center, who is making the jump after one season at AHL Providence, started building toward the pro game at Miami (Ohio) University, where he spent four seasons before the Bruins signed him as an undrafted free agent. Czarnik will have plenty of fans in the seats at Nationwide Arena on Thursday night.

“My (Miami) coaches are going to be able to make the (two-hour) trip down, and my family will be able to make the drive, because it’s only about four hours†from his hometown of Washington Township, Michigan, Czarnik said. “It’s going to be a big, exciting trip for me.â€

Happy for Czar, hope he has a big game.

In other news, B's D pairs from the morning skate:

#NHLBruins AM skate defense:

Chara—Carlo
Krug—O’Gara
Liles—C. Miller
Morrow

Like it, but the 3rd pair is a little scary. As long as they don't spend too much time in their own zone (they both do have the ability to move the puck), they should be good.

I wasn't excited until now.

A new schedule, a new batch of tickets and a fresh sheet of ice.

I hope all of our posters are on the GDT tonight :yo: Let's have some fun :)

HERE WE GO BRUINS...HERE WE GO:handclap::handclap:

Muzz for me as well.

Anyone last year get the opening day defense right cause I guarantee you I was way off.

Go Bruins, lets start this season off better then last year.

With Bergeron being added to the mix later this looks like a fun lineup. Might be able to do some damage depending on how some of the kids play.

I kinda liked Czarnik in 57 or whatever he was wearing which now I can't remember. Also, I think the #6 is cursed on the Bruins but hopefully Colin makes it work! I like Heinens 43. Also I liked Carlo with a higher number as well.

I prefer the lower numbers myself.

Wish someone would ask Heinen about the 43.

Carlo was 36 for Tri-City, 26 for USA. The 36 was available, but he must not have wanted it?

6 is cursed but none of those numbers are covered with glory in Bruins history. Hopefully the new guys change that.

I'm pretty sure they gave C.Miller 6 because they don't like him:sarcasm:

I think that 3rd pair could do well if they're deployed against bottom 6. Should be good at retrieval and breakout, hopefully will help the B's tilt the ice a bit with the depth lines on the ice.

There has been a curse on #6 ever since Teddy Green almost died on the ice wearing it. If Green had not left the Bruins on bad terms when he jumped to the WHA his number might have been retired by the team.

I think it's great that some of the young guns are getting a shot. That said, I'm mentally preparing myself for a letdown season this year. I'm going to cheer loud and proud, but I won't be crushed if the disappoint because the future is really looking up.

Dougie Hamilton wears #27. :naughty:

Speaking of Hamilton. I know it's only one game, but boy did Dougie put in a woofer last night.

Sheltered icetime (5th lowest) - 4 PIMS - 0 points - and a minus 2.:handclap:

Love these stat lines from that 6'5'' baby. Hope we was soft as puppy poo as well. Mentally weak player. Couldn't be happier.

Senyshyn, Lauzon and JFK for that Beaker looking ****? All day everyday. Sweeney hitting a homerun.
