I just came off a conference call to see the news.

Wow, just wow! I never thought it would go this way.

But it is the right decision. Staal needs to sit. I hope Lindgren Wally Pipp’s him. (I’ll explain that later kids)

I'm a little terrified by the thought three rookies on defense but can it be that much worse than it has been? I’m sure there will be a lot of energy on the back end tonight. I hope so.

For sure, unless somehow the D takes off and plays really well and never looks back

which isn't likely

But it is good to see a little accountability for someone like Staal. Sure he's a vet and blah blah but he's been baaaaad and escaping responsibility for it because he's a vet for far too long.

I mean, I can understand not wanting to run 3 rookies plus a guy who has only barely established himself as an NHLer (by barely, I mean recently). It made sense to see if Lindgren really had taken another step, which his play in the AHL showed he has.

Is this the real life? ...

The next step is to not have to dress Smith based on needing someone to PK.

Trust the kids out there. Lindgren has PK experience. So does Hajek. I can understand not putting DeAngelo and Fox out there for those situations, but they're going to have to learn it eventually. DeAngelo is probably a better option that Fox for now.

So let's blame Staal not playing to ruin the tank lmfao imagine if they go on a winning streak here and dont look back :sarcasm:

Smith is fine as a bottom 6er.

Are either of those guys experienced playing PK on their off-side? Because that's what it would've required for Lindgren or Hajek to take Smith's spot on the PK.

I wonder which of them will be PKing tonight? Sucks this is a national broadcast, because our guys would definitely be watching for it.

Tampa's got a pretty tough 4th line--so I can see Haley in this one--he's outscoring McKegg anyway. McKegg to me is kind of like Paul Carey. He could be replaced easily by DiGiuseppe and I like Nieves better too.
