I dont know why Eminger is getting the shaft so often.

Hes better than Bickel and Gilroy. He's harder on the puck and has a better shot than both of him. When he was playing regularly before his injuries last season he wasn't playing bad and giving them good minutes, adding toughness on the boards and in front of the net as well.

Im a little puzzled why Torts isnt giving him a shot, its not like he'll be playing 20 minutes. Gilroy hasnt been anything special, and had a few putrid giveaways against the Devils and for an "offensive defenseman" he has no moves and a weak shot.

Don't get it.

Yeah, not sure how I feel about Boyle sitting. Regardless, the lines still look pretty good.

I'd like to have Boyle playing too, but he put himself in this position. Hes not using his body at all and the skating that earned Torts trust two seasons ago is all but gone now. Its definitely re-attainable for him, so i'm hoping that this is the right move tonight, sitting his big ass down to think about what needs to be done.

Torts did this with Feds last year and he took off. Hopefully this will get him going and show the rest of the team that its put up or sit in the pressbox time.

LGR!!!

I love that Kreider-Miller-Cally line!

Lets hope the Isles don't take any penalties, don't want any of those momentum killing PPs...

JT Miller, Chris Kreider, and Ryan Callahan are all in the lineup.

Brian Boyle can't fight.

Feel better?

No, I don't. BB can't fight but he sure can PK and play D which is something we are noticeably lacking this season.

I'm amazed Torts actually did it. Of all the times I've wanted him to scratch Boyle over the past season, now he does it. Hope it works.

We have Powe who is great on the PK, and our defense is still fine.

We need to score goals, Boyle is supposed to do that but doesn't because he sucks.

JT Miller, Chris Kreider can do that.

Asham can fight. It's fairly simple logic why Tortorella is sitting Boyle. He said it during the post game that others are going to lose their spots to the younger guys.

 I'm not going to suggest that it's because they're all American, but...
:D but in the least nationalistic way possible, I've been a Kreider fanyboy since the playoffs last season. Other than following the World Juniors, I haven't payed too much attention to Miller until the last game, in which he impressed me a lot. Cally is just Cally, if that makes any sense.

Playing as the Rangers in NHL 13 made the thought of Gab-Richie-Nash an exciting one, the line was monstrous, but other than a few moments so far this season it's been proven that it may not work for the team.

A lot of my favorite players aren't American btw :P

Why do people keep talking about Bickel being in the lineup? The latest info makes it sound like he's a scratch and Eminger is in

Andrew Gross ‏@AGrossRecord
Boyle and Bickel remain on the ice for extra work. So they will be healthy scratches. Girardi likely out, Cally likely in.

Tbh I'd rather have Boyles PK and FO ability out there than Ashams fighting (in)ability.

Hope Boyle get's the message and come backs strong.

I would sit Asham for Brian Boyle, certainly.

Asham can keep up with the play.. its ovious that the Rangers want to get quicker up front. i wont be shocked if Boyle is the next one to get trade.... i hope this happens..

A trade involving Boyle would all but ensure Miller's place in the lineup. I'm not overly keen on the idea, but it obviously would depend on the return.

Boyle haters finally get their wish.

Will be interesting to watch the PK without him.

Yea, it's a little perplexing. Asham over Boyle makes no sense.

The Rangers clearly wanted to get out of the staged fighting game when they shipped off Rupp and didn't replace his role on the roster.

This isn't a team built to goon things up. It's a team built to attack.

(based on what is listed as the lines tonight)
Pyatt - Richards - Gaborik
Hagelin - Stepan - Nash
Kreider - Miller - Callahan
Powe - Halpern - Boyle

Are clearly our best forwards. Asham won't be out on the PK, so it makes no sense.

It was suggested Bickel could be scratched, because he was out with Boyle, who is scratched. Hopefully that means Eminger is in.

“@stevezipay: Brian Boyle on being healthy scratch: "Nobody's fault but mine..."”

“@AGrossRecord: So it appears it will be lines reported earlier (with Cally in, Boyle out) and Stu Bickel and Dan Girardi out on D, with Steve Eminger in.”

Passion. That's all I ask for tonight. Some all out friggin passion.

It was pathetic the other night. No identity, no passion, almost no hitting. Playing a division decades old rival who knocked us out of the playoffs and it looked like a preseason game. Where's the hitting? The fighting? The grit? The hard work? The intensity? How could we play a game like that, where we needed a win for so many different reasons, without any real level of passion? A game with such stakes and rivalry yet almost no scrums at all? I mean, I don't need staged fights, but holy hell, get in their faces a bit! Under their skin a bit! Punish them along the boards! Do, just, anything!

But no, last game was a cluster****. No passion, no grit, no, how do you say, JAM.

Tonight better look different. Tonight they better bring their identity with them. Find the passion, the heart, the inner warrior, and crush these ****ers goddammit.

“@stevezipay: Brian Boyle on being healthy scratch: "Nobody's fault but mine..."â€
No the punctuation is way off. He said: ""Nobody's fault. [Torts can kiss] butt mine."â€

Terrible grammar and a lack of respect. Get this nuisance off this team!

If Miller sticks I have to imagine Boyle gets traded. He is more valuable that way than a 4C depending on the return.

Doesn't seem Iikely at this point, however.

"@NYRangers: Brian Boyle: ""I work as hard as I can every day...but I need to play more desperate...have more of an attitude...edge""

"@NYRangers: Brian Boyle: "My whole body of work, it hasn't been there this year..I know I've got to be better""

Hopefully this is the kick in the ass he needed
