The entire quote - On what he hopes Boyle gets from sitting: “To be miserable. And I hope that he never puts me in this type of decision again. Brian knows how we play. He's not gonna pick up anything watching tonight’s game. He’s not playing. And I know he loves to play. And he will get another opportunity to play. And I hope I don’t have to be involved in this type of decision again with him.â€

Wow. Brutally honest. If that's what its going to take to wake some of these guys up, so be it.

Hat trick against boston, 2 goals against toronto. Has been totally non existant in the other games.

Barely looked like he wanted the puck the last game.

This is always the case with Gaborik. What do people want out of him? He is a streaky goal scorer, always has been always will be.

His job is to score goals, and he does it better than ANYBODY else on the team.

To not have him hide against the boards and getting 3 shots a game. Go to traffic areas and get shots off.

Amazing the amount of flack Gaborik gets even from his own coach.

I wouldn't say the doesn't deserve it in this instance though, from the coach at least. The fans around here are crazy with the hyperbole, Torts is being honest and reasonable IMO. I will say, however, that Richards and Nash deserve the flak just as much. If that line isn't scoring, that's one problem, but playing lazy and sloppy like they did last game is an entirely different situation.

Let's hope everyone, especially that first line, realizes the situation and comes out on fire tonight.

I love the way Nash always looks directly into the camera during interviews. This guy is intense and awesome.

I want to see a much better effort tonight. Tuesday's game reminded me of the dark ages of 1998 - 2004, they looked like they didn't care.

Come out hitting, shooting and kick these Long Island punk's *****! LGR

Yet he has still produced almost x2 the amount Nash has.

He has 1 more point than Nash. Nash is +4 while Gaborik is +2. Nash has killed penalties and done pretty well doing it. Nash also has more shots on net.

The only thing gaborik is doing better is he has a better shooting percentage. Everything else Nash is clearly outplaying him.

Reality will stick to Rangers fans when Gaborik is trade for scraps this offseason and if Nash continues scoring at an abysmal rate, pitchforks and torches will be out for trading Gaborik.

I thought Gaborik had 12 for some reason, I stand corrected.

Nash has looked great but I'd be lying if I said he hasnt frustrated me too. Finish those chances. Hell, sometimes pass up those chances.. he does hang onto the puck for too long at times as well but I'm nitpicking cause if he was scoring I wouldn't care.

Stepan was advertised as a skilled player. Btw, I did not say "special", you did.

He is a skilled player. Just his shooting percentage right now is as bad as Nash's. So is Hagelins.

Those guys regress to the mean and get their shooting percentage at least double what it is now. Those three arent going to be shooting 4-5% all season.

Nothing. It's just his fault we're losing apparently.
Yikes. Rarely does a coach call out a player like that because of his play. I figured he skipped practices or something. He must be having a really bad stretch.

Shooting percentage. Thats all it is.

In his worst season previously he was at 9.8%. Other than that he was at 11-12%.

He is currently at 5.

Unless he has some serious injury that has removed his shot, he will regress to the mean and get his percentage to double what it is now.

Which is strange because I feel pretty much everyone is having a "bad stretch". Now I don't love or hate Boyle, I see him for what he is; a decent 3C and a great 4c.

But Torts getting on Boyle's case. I don't see it. Lots of players are doing poorly right now.
