Hot damn what a beauty

Oh man, she really is. Thanks, dude!

I finally put her though a few paces after staring in disbelief for about 10 minutes, haha. Fuuuuuug, it chugs and screams. Second FR, and it's apparent that I need to practice palm muting on it more

It's all scratched up, dude! And, are those burns or black mold?! WTF?1?!?!

:sarcasm:

jk. That's tight!!

Been to hell and back, lol. Treated with razors and actual fire. Definitely an acquired taste, but this was a dream of mine for 11 years since it's introduction. Thank you!

Congrats, man!! 11 years is a long time to wait for anything!! It's a beaut!

My inner redneck wants to make a coffee table out of buckeye to match, it sort of naturally does match. Would take a big piece of buckeye tho. Maybe pine could work. For whatever reason the guitar reminded me of epoxied buckeye. Which is absolutely beautiful.

That's a 10'' X 17'' charcuterie board of expoxied buckeye...

I love epoxied tables, especially if you can have a live edge. I have never looked at buckeye wood before. It's gorgeous.

This RZK-II guitar actually has several layers of paper that are applied, cut and then burned. There is a clear coat over to preserve the destruction. It's actually a somewhat fragile finish. Nit a smart financial decision at all, but hey, gotta metal!

Neat! I would have not guessed paper.

Yeah, dang ol' money is like the wind, man. You only feel it when it's movin'. -Boomhauer

FRs are absolutely infuriating to set up and restring, but do a fine job of staying in tune. A friend of mine has been on the Kahler kick but I don't have anything set up with that yet so we'll see. Been playing more bass these days anyway.

Speaking of which, I just grabbed a G&L LB-100 on the cheap from a buddy of mine. Had been needing a P-bass for a while and this does the job great. Still needs some setup but the tone is there.

Whoa! Is it a Tribute or the OG? Either way, they are slinky beasts. I saw Pancho Tomaselli gig with a local funk band and was mesmerized by him. Pretty sure it was an LB-100. Happy for you!

Those Kahlers look so freaking sweet. I suppose I will watch a ton more videos on setting the FR up in case I run into any issues. So far my KH-202 hasn't seen too much action as I didn't want to fuss with the bridge. Now that I have two FRs, I guess I better sack up!

...and I just plunked for my bedroom setup. Mesa Mini Recto and a Recto 2x12 vert. Oh lawd, my wife is going to ask why I bought that cab, lol

Tribute so nothing too special, but it probably won't be my main bass or anything for the moment (a place currently taken by my Warwick Rockbass $$).

Yea the FR isn't hard to deal with or anything, it's just tedious, especially if you're changing string gauges since you'll have to rebalance the whole thing.

Oh hell yea, congrats. I have a Mesa 2x12 with V30s and I absolutely love it.

Oooh, the "shaka" bass. Noice.

I heard the Mesa V30s are special to them and you can't get the same ones from Celestion dealers. Kind of excited, but at the same time a bit bummed I have to break the speakers in.

I've never heard that but I wouldn't be surprised. I'll have to open up my 2x12 and take another look. I got that cab secondhand but I don't believe the speakers got replaced at any point. Did come with an extra pair of greenbacks though, which I still need to find a cab for.

Ooh, front or back mount for the greens?

Looking at an overdrive pedal for the new setup. I have a t9 for downstairs, but am wondering if I should try something different. Ever play with a Horizon Devices Precision Drive? I hear it has a good mix of old and modern tones.

Front, thinking of putting those in an X pattern in my Crate BV 4x12 with the V30s already in it.

Honestly I'm still just a TS808 guy. With the Mesa setup there's already plenty of gain and the TS tightens it up really nice. That said, I've been somewhat out of the pedal game for a while in general.

Nice. I do enjoy mixed cabs. Truly a way to get a unique sound.

The overdrive is only for tightening. Taking the 212 off of the casters so I want to make sure it isn't too muddy on a hardwood floor. I'm not huuuge pedal guy. Just have a few AMT pedals, a Boss N-S2, a T9 and an old RP360XP multi.

Probably just going to say eff it and grab an OD808.

Aaaaaand I went with the Horizon Devices Precision Drive. Picked one up for $125 which is a steal. What really pushed it over the top for me was the gate feature.
Yea that'll help with all that gain for sure. I'm still using an old NS-2 which does the job but there are so many good gates out there now.

I love my NS-2, but the urge to try something new overpowered my attempt at pragmatism, lol. I really, really need to not make a habit out of this. Gearheaditis is an incurable condition
