On one hand, I'd like Lindy to reinvent the way the team plays in order to shore up the defensive woes its had.

I keep thinking back to Miller's Vezina-winning campaign. There was a team-oriented approach to the defensive side of the game and the Sabres won the Northeast crown. Ruff had every player buy into the system he was selling - commitment to helping out the d, not leaving the zone early, attention to detail etc.

On the other hand, Vanek is unleashed right now and playing like the best player in the world.

Can't win.

to be honest I'd rather have Seth Jones at this point. With Myers struggling more and more every game it looks like he wasn't the franchise defender we though he would be. Add to that McNabb and Pysyk are having down years and suddenly our defence is a lot thinner than we once thought. Im not saying I'm giving up on any of our players, but if were evaluating it now compared to 6 months ago, it's definitely gotten worse. Mackinnon/ Drouin would be great too, but I'd take Seth 1st.
