welp, this is a road trip to be forgotten. Highest scoring team in the league and we haven't been able to do shit for basically four games now.

Going 0-3 on this road trip, for a team that's supposed to be a playoff team is beyond unacceptable. Loses against two of the worst teams in the league.

It's not like they are comfortably locking up a playoff spot. This roster is continuing to decline

Youre hellbent on looking at everything through "it's Cooper fault" goggles to realize this isn't on him.
When you score 4 goals in 5 games playing mostly against garbage teams and the main reason for that is incredibly low effort, it's always on the coach, just admit it and get over it

They aren't declining lol. They are where they likely end, as a wild card. Gone are the +10 win streaks. People need to temper expectations and realize this is a growing pain/transition season. Capable of going deep, but just as likely as getting bounced in round 1. That's what we are. Depth is lousy, defense is inconsistent and at times shambolic, we have one goalie, and if our top 6 doesn't get on the scoreboard twice, we likely get smoked. That's just the reality of the this teams composition and people are pissy because they expect a core of 5-6 guys to carry 18 to a +50 win season and go deep, anything less and it's fire sale city + Fire Cooper.

You were incredibly quiet when we were winning games. Three games in an 82 game season doesn't warrant firing a coach. Bad play gets corrected in a myriad of ways other than firing a coach. Your delusional post stating the players want him out will go down as one of the dumbest takes of 2025, like Byrds take on Hagel for 2024. Just accept that trophy and exit the stage.

It's a bad stretch after a very good month of December. It sucks, but the team has mostly been playing well defensively and in net. The guys who get paid the big money to.produce have been putrid for 4 games, and regardless of what team you are, if your two big scoring lines and your top 5 or 6 offensive players decide to.pmay like ass, you're going to lose some games. They need to have a players meeting and try to get on the same page, as there are too many games this month for them to blow the season with an atrocious January. Also, just lol at anyone e thinking Cooper should be fired because of 3 bad offensive games, give me a break.

I know some of you were asking for line changes and I noticed a lot of that tonight with tinkering. Didn't change the number of goals scored unfortunately

Had plenty of shots and opportunities in grade A areas, everything is just a touch off. Pretty standard slump here, wouldn't be too worried about anything deeper.

"We can't beat easy teams"
*beats easy teams*

"We can't beat playoff teams"
*beats playoff teams*

*Loses to easy teams*
"We can't beat easy teams"

And so goes the cycle of idiocy. Fact is, people constantly shit posting for Cooper to be fired have *the* worst take currently for this team. We aren't in that territory. Organizations that do that kind of nonsense usually end up worse off whereas we are consistently making playoffs and giving it our best shot. The problem with this team is depth primarily up front and on the backend the lack of consistency from 50% of our defense is absolutely burning us. The problem with our fanbase (for better or worse, and for quite some time) is that we've been so accustomed to seeing a winning team we just expect 18 bozos to hop over the bench and secure 1st in the Atlantic, get 2-3 personal trophies and at least get to the ECF. It's asinine. At some point you just have to let the foaming of the mouth cease and realize this iteration of the Lightning isn't the same as previous years. We sorely lack an identity/style and realistically two bottom six needle movers and a bottom pairing defenseman to make this team a contender. There's passion in wanting and hoping to see this team do well, then there's grasping at straws when guys like Glendening, Girgensons, Eyssimont, sulking Chaffee, and Atkinson/Goncalves make up 5/6 on your bottom 6. Ain't happening, chief.

Ok, one good win in the last *checks notes* 17 games. thanks JJ who played the game of his life. All the other games were either losses or wins against non playoff teams
Which is part of your premise, that we can't beat those teams. Yet, when we do, you go silent. You can't keep shifting the goal posts to fit your Fire Cooper narrative. It just makes you look more desperate.

For the record, since you're full of shit... Vancouver is a WC team but you didn't include them. You just make shit up at this point don't you? Lmao

What's wrong? When you beat bad teams it should be taken for granted. When you lose to those teams it's a reason for serious criticism. I'm not saying we CAN'T beat those teams. You're saying that. You're literally justifying the fact that we can't score more than 1 goal against San Jose, Anaheim and Montreal by saying that Cooper doesn't have a good enough lineup.

Thats prima facie. I think that's a large part of it, our depth is non existent right now and when the top line is checked tightly, it becomes easier to beat us. So, you expect a better team to beat the lesser team 100% of the time? Can you show me one, just one, team in regular season NHL history that has done this and not lost to a non-playoff team?

I'll wait.
