From what I can tell, no sustained pressure, too many telegraphed passes and a lack of puck awareness.

There's no primary or secondary scoring.
Hopefully this will change
One more thing, zuccerello could'nt hit the ocean from a boat

Irregardless of not burying it, Zucc has probably been our best player tonight...

C'mon boys. bring it back. We need to get better at finding the open man to relieve the pressure entering the zone and exiting the zone.

We get your point
You think Nash is worthy of praise and is oblivious to criticism although he has been terrible since the playoffs. That fluke assist notwithstanding, he needs to pick up his game considerably. If you think he is bringing bang for the buck, well, whatever

If that's a fluke, so is every assist in the history of hockey

Richards hasn't been terrible. Our 2nd line is bringing the heat and all-in-all I'm really liking what I'm seeing from this team. Call me crazy but I think we're actually playing well.

No, I'm digging this as well. The preseason didn't bring down might excitement at all. Imagine this team healthy, a few months under AV.

There's a difference between criticism and calling to trade him.

Also, that wasn't a fluke assist. Stepan's second assist on that goal was the fluke, if anything.

At even strength: Pyatt, 8:32; Brassard, 7:09; Boyle, 7:01.

Too much 5-on-5 for Boyle and especially Pyatt, more even strength minutes than Nash.

Yeah, that definitely has to change. How much of that is because of the extended zone time after the PK expired though?

Exactly. Give it some time and the pieces will fall in place. Some rust to shake off and all that, but this team carries the puck well, the D jumping into the play is exciting, and the pace/puck possession is refreshing to me. I'm enjoying this. We just need a couple of goals here in the third.

This team cannot afford to go any less than .500 on this road trip because the conference and division both got way better. If they dig themselves a nice hole this month, they may never climb out.

Curse you late games. Curse you Brian Boyle and your balsa wood hockey sticks.

Lundqvist needs to step up his game.

Although a lot you will continue to blame every goal on everything but him, saying that nobody could have saved it

sad to lose season opener, but it is what it is...gotta regroup review and get ready for Monday night now. good night y'all

So basically if you think Hank deserves $10 million on a max deal after this stinker, please consult a physician immediately. I fear for your mental health.

The amount of ice time Boyle and Pyatt got was ridiculous, injuries notwithstanding. I think they had more even strength ice time than Stepan and Nash. That's unacceptable.

The penalty kill was an abomination. I think Phoenix's PP is good, but they basically generated a goal on each PP. That can't happen.

Fortunately the PP looked coherent.

Also thought the team sort of gave it up after the third goal against. Was not impressed with their overall game. First 30 minutes were great, the second half was a joke.

Staal was great. Richards was very good. Zuccarello was good. Thought John Moore had a solid game, too.

Meh not terrible. We had a bunch of scoring chances we didn't finish on but just had major issues with turning the puck over (Stepan) and getting the puck out of our zone on the powerplay. And I stand by what I said a year ago that if a player breaks his stick he should go right to the bench instead of trying to play with it and risk getting stuck out there unable to do anything

wait youre mad at nash for fighting? wtf the dude cant win around here

No, he can't win here. Good player in a city where there's no pressure. He's a complete waste and a bum in NY. It happens to a lot of good players. Do you really need examples?

If I didn't need to wake up again in 5 hours, I would write an essay on why I hate Boyle. This isn't a small 3 page essay. This is a 15 page, research paper.

Staal and Richards had good games, Nash was invisible until the fight, stepan was very rusty, and the kids were nervous

He was on pace for 40+ goals last year and 80+ points.......

With Callahan and Hagelin out they are playing with two 4th lines. Hopefully the Cap is back Monday.
