Positives from the first 20; Nash, Segal and henke

Negatives; Faceoff's and the D

I liked what I saw from Nash a lot. And obviously Hank is ready, but the team just looked lost.

Rask was outside the crease and he skated into Boyle, correct?

The morons on the Boston (National) feed will never actually explain it, so I was hoping someone here could explain why Boyle got called for interference.

Bull. Awful, AWFUL call by the ref on the "goalie interference." Stupider to get AN EXTRA two on top of that.

Perfectly justified to be angry at that call. It was terrible.

NEED MORE: Forecheck, Cycle, Physicality, Fight back.

This kind of physicality in the first game of the season without any preseason games is really hard to deal with. Del Zotto and Callahan are two best Rangers by far. Cally needs more ice. Hags, Gabby, Staal - need to get their head on straight. Rangers have more size than a year ago - need to use it. Skill, speed on bottom 6 may be a problem. And I wish Prust was here to stand up to Lucic. Someone needs to.

He sprung Seguin on a breakaway and stood and watched while Lucic put the puck in.

Bottom line in this period: Give a offensively, defensively, "goally" sound team AT HOME, a penalty to start the game :20 in, it's going to take a **** load to regain momentum. From the get go 20 seconds in, we were more likely to be outplayed (at least in the first 5-10 minutes) and then the boyle call makes this one hell of a difficult 1st period of the season.

That Boston feed is brutal, absolutely horrible to watch, but I don't have much choice unfortunately.

boyle skated into him from the side, but he was tangled up and/or pushed into him by the Bruin defender...and Rask was way outside the crease.

That wasn't an excessive amount of talking compared to what I've seen before. Kozari is just a very sensitive official.

Hope he can maintain consistency if anyone else argues a call.

Still better than 1st period of last years 1st game, and that season ended up pretty good
