I think the team looks fine. Not a flagship period, but we have all seen that happen before.
Two periods left and the next one starts with a man advantage

Wasn't that bad. Just two absolutely ludicrous calls and two brutal plays a D-man who shall remain nameless. We'll get 'em.

They played great team defense in their zone but they were stuck there far too often. They need to get some solid time in the Bruins zone. I'd be very surprised if they didn't come back out fired up.

Honestly, I'm just real happy to be watching NYR hockey again.

I understand it is the first game back but wow that was a terrible period. Hank was the only one who showed up. Hagelin should NOT be in the first line he looks terrified

Callahan and Boyle looked great, Hags looked pretty bad, and everybody else was pretty meh. I thought DZ was noticeably good that period, too.

4:30 TOI for Gaborik is not enough, we spent too much time in the penalty box which prevented us from getting in a rhythm. When the penalties in a period are 3-1 it'll look poor.

Got outplayed that period. Hopefully the PP on a fresh sheet of ice can get things going. Seeing as the Rangers can almost never win a faceoff, why don't they just assume they'll lose it and play accordingly?

Call against Boyle was awful, might as well just instruct all goalies to run into people, instant PP.

Glad to see that the referees are in mid-season form. :shakehead

Not a bad period in spite of what the stats say. With six minutes worth of penalties, it really wasn't possible for the Rangers to establish any pressure. At even strength I think the play is actually relatively even.

Let's gain some momentum off the PP to start the period and see what happens.

Some of you are way overreacting. lol

Only problem I have is these line combos. Top 2 lines have 3 of 4 wingers out of position. Two players (Callahan/Stepan) who never had any chemistry. and a player (Hagelin) who has no business being on the 1st line. imo.

I said it through out most of last season - Hags is horrible on the D..He looks so clueless out there...

Positives from the first 20; Nash, Segal and henke

Negatives; Faceoff's and the D

Bruins were all over the place i mean the rangers couldnt move an inch. Torts is gonna be pissed but i know the rangers will come out better

But yeah, new scoreboard graphics are really nice. I imagine people watching the game letterboxed on SDTVs will find it hard to see.

Torts will straighten them out, early PPG in the 2nd.

Not the start we were all looking for, but the early penalties didn't allow us to get our legs, and Boston took advantage of that.

Good to start the 2nd on the PP. Hope we can get some good looks, and hopefully give us some momentum for the rest of the period.

Hagelin didn't have his best period, while I thought Hank looked real good. Anyone who put that Bruins goal on Hank is kidding themselves.

A lot of game left, plenty of time to get on the board and take control.
