Miller looked less nervous by the end of the period

Everything possible went wrong thus far but I'm not mad. Let's clean it up.

I think we should give him a couple games before judging his play :) But yeah bad pass

Yeah for sure, he could adjust quickly, and there are probably some major nerves.

He's gotta step it up a long ways from here though. As do a bunch of guys, but most of them have a history that shows they CAN do it.

Man im reallllyyyy trying to get back into hockey. I was a hardcore NHL fan until about 2014, the league is such a shell of itself its hard to recognize. How are you down 3-0 vs the isles in the 1st period and no one even tries to mix it up? No bone crushing hits on the forecheck, no face washes around the net after the play, no pushing, no shoving, never mind dropping the gloves. Tough sport man, headed in the wrong direction

This is a young and emotional team. We will have high highs, and low lows.

Problem for me is, the oldest player on the team COMPLETELY DEFLATES the team with his penalty. Fishsticks get some puck luck and then all the kids go into a dark place.

P.S.- it's evident we do not have a Captain/Leader. Our coaching is bad and we are never prepared to start a game

P.P.S. At least Staal didn't take penalties

Not exactly surprising. This team is so young. It’s going to take some time to gel and get going. This is a veteran Islanders team schooled in a defensive scheme. It’s a good test

ok so now the piles apply the strangle trap 2 more periods of dump and chase, grab and obstruct and clog it up.

just like the old devils teams

when will david quinn be shown the door ? thats when this franchise will be ready to take the next step.

Quinn's PK choices are just......odd

He throws the entire roster on the PK except Chytil and Lemieux. The latter of is actually a really good PK'er. Way better than Strome or Howden at least.

Can’t say I missed reading comments when the team is down.

Bad, bad start. Got a little life after the good PKs. They have the firepower to get back in this still.
