He's been human a lot lately. Giving up 6,4,3,3 and 3 in the first period tonight in the past 9 games. Like I said earlier, he has a great game, a mediocre game and a bad game every 3 starts.
And none of those scores had anything to do with the team in front of him. This team has played some **** hockey in front of him lately, minus one or two games.

Also, its not exactly scientific to cherry pick a 9 game stretch to begin with. His overall body of work and his stats say he must have been playing very well at some point.

I was just teasing. Our lot in life as Blues fans is to never, ever feel good about our goaltending. And if we break that cardinal rule that goalie will either get lit up for 6 goals in game 7 or get jumped on by Nick Kypreos.

seriously. i'm thinking it's time we see if we could somehow package bouwmeester, rattie, a defensive prospect and a pick for ekman-larsson.

I'd be inquiring about Zidlicky at this point. Our PP is absolute crap without a QB.

I didn't cherry pick, I just quoted his last 9 games. i'm not blaming him, just mentioning a trend I have noticed.

It's because you secretly know it's not as bad as you claim.

Is it disappointing to see the Blues have a bad night? Yes.
Is it concerning that this trend happens? Yes.
Is anyone very worried we'll miss the playoffs? Nope.

I saw the Blues "on" switch against TB recently. You can count on 2-3 fingers how many teams can play with "that" Blues team.

Understood, but IMO it correlates to the piss-poor play in front of him lately as well.

He's not going to steal every game. This team plays 05-06 like D at times. I dont have a ton of faith in him or the D come PO's because its the Blues.. In his defense he has absolutely stolen some points for this team lately and I think he deserves recognition for it. Allen has too. Team's been **** for a while.

Kind of scary to see how much we depend on Shattenkirk.

Jbo has been utter garbage this year

Jbo doesn't have the quickness to be on a PP, and by that I mean at receiving passes and getting it off his stick...and that's if he doesn't fumble the puck.

Our PP did looked good in 2nd period. Only Jbo on blueline is terrible and that isnt suprise to anybody. Ofc Pietro's pass on blueline was bad, so easy to read SH forward. Still Pietro and Jbo on PP have been gruesome in this season. 2 guys who cannot hit the net, shot are always wide.

Tarasenko has seemed lazy the past few games.
Very casual and a bit more "selfish" this past weeks.

Stastny gets to easy of the hook. Havent been the "main man" one game so far :( i really wish we didnt go for him now looking back. What a waste of capspace.

I would ship JBo and some prospects out for a more offensive d-man to partner pito. Gunnarsson was a nothing trade and without Shattenkirk we have no push from the blueline.

I think he has the quickness he just doesn't make the right decisions with the puck. Like you said, he fumbles with it a lot and often times dumps it in (which works occasionally) but at the wrong times. He's the best PP option we have besides Petro and Shatty but still has some flaws.

This is correct and why I dont worry too much. Sure it was nice watching the Blues play full out for every game of the RS the last few years, but we all want a Cup not a President's trophy, which funnily enough they are still very much in the running for even though I could count on one hand how many times they brought their A game, IMO.

One against LA, one against CHI, one against ANA, one against COL after the 5-0 game and one against TB. Those teams are some of the best. I expect they will bring something better this weekend against BOS/PIT.

Yeah but the problem is I can count on 2-3 fingers how many times Hitch has got the blues to play up to that level this year.
