In thinking back to how different players are handled by both Murray and Carlyle, they both need to go.
Murray is applauded for finding bargains and tough negotiations, but tends to shrink when a veteran or franchise player takes him on. He is not unlike bosses that will pick on some employees and treat them as his property, but won’t stand up to the old pros who tell him to f.... Just his comments that it is the players fault and not the coach suggests that he’s paying them, so it is their fault. But he seems like a kitten in addressing the Kesler problem, and Bieksa before that. And for everything he has done, we never get a elite FA. It is always someone a notch or two/three/four... below.
Carlyle is similar in his actions. Almost an attitude is that some players are marginal and should just be happy with whatever minutes or role they get. But then he seems to shrink in making the tough calls against vets. Bieksa must have really crossed a line last year to not play the last month. Makes me wonder if some of the abrupt exits of players like Aberg were based on not accepting an attitude of serfdom.
I think this teams needs a clean sweep and then move forward.
