As someone mentioned earlier in this thread, Zucc took a paycut before this season so the team would have room to re-sign Stepan. Judging by that, money isn't the main motivator.

This time around I'd wager that contract length is however.

Thats cool with me. If he takes less for a 3 or 4 year deal thats a good deal for us. Zucc is still fairly young

Thats probably already been mentioned, through his agent who negotiates the contracts for the players.

For all the bash Sather has been having, Zuke would never have been signed nor re-signed without him. Was here despite Torts. You could say Sather = God in that respect

I don't know what to say, but that's just wrong. He is behind 8 players on standard contracts on that list. I'm not trying to say that Zucc isn't a bargain, he is just not the best bargain. Mike Santorelli is producing at the same level, for half the price.

Well zuke is killing penalties, scoring ppg and shootout goals. Its not only about having the most awesome stats

I said it in the post game talk thread last night and I'll say it here:

Zucc is and has been the best player on this team.

And I don't just mean best forward. Night in, night out, he skates his ass off, forechecks, gets back on D, plays in all situations and just out and out plays like a gives a ****. Which is more than I can say for players making 5 times what he does.

On top of that comes his natural skill of being the best playmaker on the team with the best vision and puck moving ability. All this out of a little 5 foot 6 hellraiser (don't tell me he's any taller than that, I've seen him in person and he is TINY). What a player. I love this guy and hope he's a Ranger for years to come.

I dont disagree, and thats great for him. But its also a huge reason this team is only .500
