Its not unreasonable to think that he'd have himself a St. Louis year if that was the case.

Really hope that Sather gets his mojo on when the season draws to an end and get him signed for 3-4 years at 3.5-4 mill, imo. anything less is a steal. That being if his form is what it is today when we end the season, hopefully in the playoffs. Because one does want more hockey in a season.

i've been pro zucc as far back as i can remember. I can't recall a ranger in recent history that has his vision and foresight. Really fantastic.

anyone see hints of petr prucha in him?

He's nominated to two awards at a Norwegian sports galla tonight. Team sport athlete of the year and the 'name of the year' ( people's choice) award.

The latter one will probably go to a chess player, but the former is in play.

Edit: He actually won the first one!

Magnus Carlsson has nothing on Zuke. ;)

Magnus Carlsen is one of the most dominant players in his "sport" ever.

To put it in hockey terms: He is the Gretzky of chess. Zucc is great, but he is no Gretzky.

UNLESS HE SCORES THE HAT TRICK TONIGHT IN WHICH CASE HE IS DA GAWD OF ALL SPORTS!

Now has 30 pts in 41 games.

He has been consistent as ever since being scratched.

When you consider it's 30 points in 34 games, it's even more impressive. No points in 7 games before he was scratched. Since then he's been phenomenal in every facet. Still, I'd like him to shoot a bit more.

How was he tonight ? kinda missed the whole show, but its very peculiar to see that he had the most icetime of the forwards and no points :p Kinda like upside-down land, where even Boyle nets one

Though I watched on a ****** stream, it looked like he played pretty well as usual, though it didn't translate to points.

Played well. No point, +1. Was involved in Poos goal (3rd goal of tonights game). Zuccs line put the leafs under Heavy pressure from the first shift. We didnt ice the puck that much and we played most of the game in their zone. All lines played well. Great game overall.

And now for another edition of "I never thought I'd say that":

Mats Zuccarello is a better player than Rick Nash.

Well that says a lot, because Norway is a nation of many great athletes.

Only 5 million people, but the country leads the medal standings of the Winter Olympics, Norwegians should be proud.

Winter Olympic Medals

Or it says more about how small winter sports is in other nations.

Norway suck at the biggest winter sports like hockey and figure skating.

We do well in skiing crap, then again we probably have 10 times the money and resources for these sports than nations behind us, so we should.

I don't think figure skating is a very big sport compared to skiing?

Not really. It depends a bit on which sport it is, as different countries have different traditions. Norway, Sweden and Finland for example, in cross country. Countries like Austria and Switzerland for alpine events, most of central Europe for ski jump, and so on.

Norway suck at the biggest winter sports like hockey and figure skating.
And both for the exact same reason. We have what, just over 20 indoor ice rinks in the entire country ?

Ice skating (be it figure skating, hockey or what have you) has really never been a priority here, which is a shame (exception being speed skating).

Reaching the QF in the hockey world championships, and the Olympics, you dont exactly suck...

Norway has 5 million people, Finland has 5 million, Sweden has 10 million. Norway's hockey is on the rise and to be honest, those 3 countries have less people together than Canada does, and judging on medal results over the past 10 years they might be heavier pound for pound than Canada in that region in terms of producing hockey players.

Yes and no. The difference between Norway, Germany, Latvia, Denmark and Belarus is that Our top line scores the most goals. Our best Ds play more consistent. Germany got alot more Depth than us, but they dnt have a good first line.

If Holøs and Tolly are injured, then we wont stand a chance against Germany. So yes we suck and no we dnt ;)

In terms of population, i remember a "fun fact" from the Sydney (summer) Olympics. Norway was in the finals in woman's soccer against the USA (and Norway won).

The fun fact was that the USA has more girls playing soccer than Norway's total population :)

We need more rinks. Its also a shame that most rinks Close during the summer :(

The best way for Norway to develop players is to join the KHL og VHL or something. Just team up With the russians. They got alot of Money and knowledge.

Maybe you should add Denmark as well, they have 6-7 NHL'ers, Norway only has Zucc :D
