Definitely hurts to lose Zub for any amount of time but glad to see Sebrango get some time in Ottawa.
He has been on the radar since the B-Sens playoffs last season and then a pretty solid training camp this year.
Will be interesting to see how he does, if does get some games. I think he has a future with the Senators.
Decent size & plays with an edge, not afraid to mix it up and has some offence to his game.

I don't even think Zub was fully fully recovered from that nasty concussion so hopefully this break helps and he comes back like the usual Zub.

Also did he finish the game with a fractured foot? I'm not sure I remember him leaving.

I don't see how this is a Zub replacement. Why not call up Matinpalo in that case (RD) or Guennette (RD). I think this gives them the option to sit Kleven or that shot Chabot took off the foot caused a ton of swelling and he can't go tomorrow.

It's not a Zub replacement, and nor should it be. We have our best 7 Dmen (at least in the eyes of management) up with the team, one got hurt and everyone moves up a slot. In this case, it meant JBD gets back in the lineup.

Sebrango is replacing our 7th D so that if another Dman gets hurt during the road trip, we have a body to slot in.

Ridiculous that a guy who could barely stick in the AHL last year is the best callup option for an NHL team after only a single injury
Well, he's apparently been playing very well this year, and had a very strong camp. I'm not sure why they would care about how he looked last year when trying to decide who to call up now.

Sebrango being Belleville's best defenseman this year says more about the insane lack of quality D depth in the organization than his own play.

This is a copp out response, he's improved quite a bit from last year and had a very strong camp, your post has nothing to do with his actual level of play either. Belleville is 4 games above 500, pacing at 92 pts which despite both goalies getting hurt and having to sign Subban

Sebrango is not an NHL quality defenseman. Feel pretty confident about that, even if you may disagree.

The only cop out here is pretending our defensive depth is not an issue.

Most 8th D on a teams depth chart called up from the AHL aren't NHL quality defensemen, that's why they are in the AHL.

What I'm saying is I don't care about how he played last year, I care about how he's playing now, from what little I've seen, and from what I've heard, the answer is pretty well. If he gets in a game, maybe we'll see how he looks at this level and have a bit more than "but he was in the ECHL last year..." to go on.

Most teams have 8 better D in their organization than Sebrango.

Was dumb of Staios to sign Roos and Davies instead of better call-up options, and after it was established in training camp that they aren't capable injury insurance options it was dumb to not add better D depth via trade or waivers.
