Ducks need Zegras more. They need offense and the marketability, plus neither player would probably be a top 2 C long term on the team. This is assuming they're healthy, which hasn't happened yet this season.

Suzuki has been healthy, he's always healthy
Sorry, I was vague. I meant the Ducks, neither would be a top 2C on the Ducks if the team is healthy, which it hasn't at any point this season. Both McTavish and Carlsson have played at the same time less than half the season. At no point this season has all of the of the top 6 been healthy.

And being 2 years older? Or do only Montreal players get better after their first couple of seasons? Zegras has actually been pretty good on D this year when he's been in the lineup. Suzuki might be the better player, but it's too early to tell. I think Z will end up the better offensive player, Suzuki the better 2 way. This year is a write off year, but by the ends of his 24 year old season, Z will have as many 60+ point seasons as Suzuki, maybe even break 70.

They are 1.5 years apart in age. Suzuki is an extremely young 2017, Zegras is a mid range 2019.

Is it impossible for Suzuki to be better than he is ? I mean, just his production is 100% going up just on his linemates alone. Keep in mind that Nick's best linemate since 1/1/23 is Slafkovsky, a guy that never posted more than 20 points. You clearly underrate Suzuki if you believe he doesn't have 70+ potential, he's producing 68 while playing with the likes of Anderson, Harvey-Pinard, Slaf and a broken down Caufield that looks like he's ready to retire already.

Pick up a remote, watch a Habs game, you'll realize it's mostly a two or three player show on most nights, Suzuki and Guhle are carrying this team very, very hard.

I said Zegras might by 24. If the team is healthy, he should do it next year. Hell, Suzuki might... he's only 2 points off the pace. 1.5 years at this point in their careers is a big difference. Suzuki, I'm guessing, isn't the same player he was a couple seasons ago. Suzuki today is the better player, but if Zegras can consistently play defense like he's shown this year he'll close that gap. Since it sounds like you "pick up a remote" and watch every single player, you should know that Zegras has gotten better on the defensive end.

McTavish and Vatrano are the only ones that have shown up most nights for the Ducks (and the goalies), the other top line seems off by a bit most nights, but that happens when they can't play together enough to form any chemistry. Defense has 3 players with less than a full year (combined) of NHL experience coming into the year so they're really inconsistent. Next year will be a better measure... full year with a new coach/ system, training camp, and hopefully healthy team.

Suzuki was producing as much as Zegras's career high while playing good defense two years ago... 2.5 years ago he was the 1C on a stanley cup contending team.

Please go take a peek at the defense for the Habs. Lol.

The reason why the Ducks and Habs arent near in the standings is the difference between Zegras and Suzuki.

Suzuki would be your best player today, and aside from Carlsson, you have no one that has more potential than him on offense.

Isn't Guhle supposed to be a star D? Fowler is playing elite #1D minutes while being a #2/3. Vaakanainen/LaCombe are playing top pair with him.

The difference in the standings isn't Suzuki to Zegras... a large part is the health of the team, Terry looking terrible most nights, and the defensive lapses/missed assignments (though most nights the team defense looks worlds better than the last few years). It would take McDavid to close the gap between the two teams right now... and he'd probably get hurt in the first 5 games.

The Habs lost their 2C on the first night of the season, and lost their 2nd line LW, their 3rd line LW, 3C and like 5 more depth players for 20+ games.

Anaheim and Montreal are literally neck and neck.
