I'm horrified that Hughes would trade Mailman for Zegras. There is a high chance Zegras will walk in a few years and we lost a really good LHD that is very likely top 4.

As for what HF "experts" think of this trade, it's background noise.

Maybe Anaheim gets a duchene type haul for him

Not impossible but I don’t really see zegras as the type that gms lust over

Nobody mentioned montreals 1st in 25 till that quoted post
That’s nice and all. Nothing to do with the comment from OP.
OP only mentioned Zegras+2nd, not Zegras and McTavish.

post you’re talking about. wants more than the original offer.

Would have been a steal for Montreal, I truly don't understand the ducks obsession with trading Zegras.

One last thing that the article mention is that the Habs called Anaheim midway through the first round saying they were backing out of the trade (is it the call they did right before selecting Hage?)

More so, Anaheim ended up moving up not long after to #23.
The Ducks (Martin Madden, specifically) actually admitted in a behind the scenes video that they tried to trade up starting at pick #18. I don’t doubt that they made some offer for pick #21, but I would be surprised if it had to do with Zegras.
