Zaitsev is a Leaf, and therefore all value is instantly halved when in comparison to a none Leaf to HF extremists.

No it’s halved because he’s an awful player with a horrendous long term contract.

The biggest stat of all is goals against. If you're giving up less goals than other teams, you're doing it right.

As time passes, his contract will be more reasonable, whatever team he is on. There's been a shift the past couple of years.

As I said, the argument here is the ridiculous comment that he has less value than Seabrook. Zaitsev gets a lot of crap on here, and it's way overstated.

Mayfield is a surprisingly good skater for a big player and making a team friendly $1.4m per.
Alzner skates like he is moving in cement and making $4.5m per.
And you think a 2nd bridges the difference?

I said it in another leafs related thread and it rings true here as well : "Leafs fans have been spoiled through the years with their managements ability to get garbage contracts off their roster. Also with using the LTIR on useless contracts. You can't always count on some sucker to bail you out, because it usually doesn't work out.
