Zach Werenski should be considered for the Norris?

Too much emphasis on points in here. Pretty hard to argue that a player who plays for the team with the 3rd most amount of goals against is due for a Norris.

Erik Karlsson won it so defense doesn't matter.

And yeah Zach is a really fun player to watch, he is as important and nearly as dominant for his team as Makar, Hughes or Josi. Josi probably being the best comparable because they are both goal heavy and not in a top level team.

CBJ fans have known that Werenski has a season like this in him, he has just been injured a lot lately so people forgot the ability I guess. Playing for Columbus makes hockey people forget you in general, that's why people are just now like "this Laine kid is pretty good". Out of sight, out of mind.

To the benefit of those who have watched Zach over the years and drafted him in fantasy leagues in a pretty late round :)

Everyone always says this, and the voters don’t give a shit. It’s an offensive dman award.

Regardless, Werenski is good in both ends and you should watch him play. He’s deserving of the chatter.

And you don’t think points should matter, but you do think other teams scoring against CBJ when other dmen are out there count against Werenski? What? Do you think other teams only score when Werenski is out there? Have you tried not being a hater?

It's amazing how the play just runs through Z. Reminds me of pre injury Karlsson.

Don't think he'll beat out Hughes but he should get a nomination as of right now.

No kidding, first 2 D I picked in my pool this year were Fox and McAvoy. Got ZW next and that's saving my bacon from the production loss of those guys. He's been insane of late

on pace for 89 points over an 82 game season. just phenomenal. especially considering he’s playing for a team that’s 15-15-6.

damon severson is second on the team in points for d-men… he’s 22 points behind Z.

incredible.

Jackets are only 2 pts out of the 8th spot in the East, there is no reason why they can't make it. It's not just Werenski on the ice, he has become a very vocal leader. He was so very shy his first 5-6 years and it seemed he didn't have 100% confidence in himself at times. But he is putting that defensive group on his back, their numbers would be better if Elvis was more consistent, but he has been better of late.

If they make the playoffs, he will win it.

Uhh... the 2nd place D in points for the Canucks is 33 points behind Hughes... and the 2nd place D for the Avs is 29 points behind Makar.

Incredible.
