2y remaining on his contract, no reason to sell low.

That new generation of entitled players is so annoying

Holy balls is anybody reading the thread. Waddells hands are not tied. He can trade him to 21 teams next year. He will be a rental and his value will not be as high as it is now. It will still be better than a Toronto package without Knies or any of their other big guns.

I think Waddell almost has to move him this summer. It will be a massive distraction on the team if they start the season with their #1D with one foot out the door. And not a good message to their fanbase. Move him and get it off his plate. The fans deserve to see how their team will look in the coming years.

It wouldn't be an issue.

Raddysh is in no way, shape or form a Power Play QB.

He's a finisher on the PP with a big heavy shot, but he's not quarterbacking at all. The TB power play ran through Kucherov and he was the engine and the guy that would distribute the puck around until they could open up a lane for a point shot from Raddysh.

If Toronto added Werenski to their team, it wouldn't affect Raddysh's power play worth at all and it wouldn't be redundant because they play very different roles with the extra man.
I think either that or they’d run 2 pretty equals units .

Apparently
There are 2 assets in the entire Toronto organization that Columbus would accept as the main piece for Werenski: Knies or McKenna. You're not getting Werenski for a package headline by freaking Ben Danford. McKenna is obviously not being traded, but Knies would absolutely be included.

I'm not sure it would be a ton on top of Knies, but there is simply no chance that a deal gets done without Knies being included. Columbus is better off just saying "we'll keep you and try to convince you to re-sign" than take something like Cowan, Danford, Robertson and a Colorado 1st for Werenski. Werenski hasn't asked for a trade.
Apparently the relationship has broken down between Werenski, his agent and Columbus. They need to move him.

I'd all in Nylander as a 3rd piece alongside Knies and McKenna.

Werenski for Nylander + OEL + more
and then
Marchenko for a top 4 defenseman (plus)

Nylander may not waive, but if he would, I could see Columbus doing it.
Leafs have no other RWs. Their depth is no the LW.

If Zach wants to win, Dallas or Tampa would be the best choices, maybe slight edge to Dallas. Not willing to share the spotlight on the blue line with Heiskanen is selfish. That makes me wonder how much does Zach want to win.

I expect Jackets fans to boo him for the rest of his career. Columbus getting Harley coming back would have been a great return. He's as good of a D replacement as they're going to get coming back.

Jackets fans are all Mac right now...

Historically they are not attractive to top players.
This is not good for their long term outlook unfortunately.

If they get any dip in attendance due to a defeated culture that trickles to the fan base…..no bueno.
One thing they're not, is on life support...a shitty set back for sure...definitely franchise altering
