He was a top Canadian goalie prospect in the Canadiens pipeline during Price's prime, They have the same face, style-ish and beauty. You can see footage of them in the pre season they look like the same guy sitting next to each other in the dressing room, I though Fucale was gonna be a star.

I never really got it tbh. He was the product of a stacked team in front of him. MacK, Drouin, Weegar, even Meier, Ehlers... even in juniors he dropped as soon as Mac and Drouin were gone

Are his numbers even really that good? The KHL has a lot of goalies with very high save percentages. 25 goalies have at least a .916 and even Fucale is only 14th with his .924.

I've never followed the KHL for even a single minute in my life thus far, but just confirming - is the KHL a low-scoring league that's "goalie-friendly"?

Lol not sure if that's a compliment to him or a detriment to what Vanecek and Georgiev have become. Could see Grier take a flier though, no harm in getting a medium-reward asset.

I think the Sharks will keep an open mind about who they want to pair up with Askarov going into what will be his first full time NHL season is all.
