His comments after the game were disgusting. Rarely do I feel hate towards an NHL player. Especially one that my home team never even sees. I hope he gets 30 games his next suspension.

Also, let it be known that I don't really let him control how I feel about the team or their fans. Except I don't think the coach/management should ever play him again.

The league can't just suspend players for as long as they want because they don't like a guy. The NHLPA will protest and take the case to arbitration.

Eight games is the high end of reasonable here.

Most anyone with a bit of common sense knew it was going to be 8-10 games. It's a good thing he didn't hit him square in the numbers. People saying over 10 games are far too sensitive to watch this game.

Expected 8-10 games. The league would be better off without this piece of ****, so hopefully the Flyers just release him and he can go play overseas. There are better players that can be just as effective that I'm sure th Flyers can ice without having to worry about them giving the franchise a black mark.

This is what happens when you have Chris Pronger (who is still being paid by the Flyers) in charge of meting out penalties to the Flyers.

Don't have to be a genius to identify that this is a CLASSIC conflict of interest scenario.

ANYONE would be biased in that scenario. It's just a shame the NHL has the incompetence to hire Pronger in the first place.
Oh please, like Chris Pronger would put his professional reputation on the line to protect Zac Rinaldo of all people.

He's not allowed to be involved in Flyers related incidents. He's also just an advisor he doesn't have the final say in any matter.

hit wasn't that bad, and no injury. Hit itself is worth maybe 2 games, the other 6 games for being a repeat offender, and being a ******.

Rinaldo is a giant POS, he is the new Matt Cooke in my eyes. I think this suspension was off by about 3,000 games.

Speaking of obvious bias...

No injury aside from Letang did not finish that game as well as missed the following game the next night....

Seriously - I happen to like Rinaldo... I'm in the minority, I know. But with his history, it was obvious he was gonna get more than 5 games this time....

It's nice that a Flyer is on the committee. Yeah, he doesn't make any judgements on Flyers. Uh-huh. Yeah.

He is just work buddies with the guys that do.

This league is a farce.

Plus six others in major junior. BTW, this is his 8th in professional hockey (4 in the AHL - in 1 season - and now 4 in the NHL).

He almost has as many suspensions as points.

Taken from another site, he's one of 11 forwards in NHL history to have played 200+ games and have 20 or less points. Get him out of the league

http://www.hockey-reference.com/pla...4stat=&c4comp=gt&c4val=&order_by=games_played

Or maybe more fair, done by points per game:

http://www.hockey-reference.com/pla...4val=&order_by=points_per_game&order_by_asc=Y

Either way not very flattering company and with his list of suspensions...

This is about as much as expected. Me and most Flyers fan wish it was a life-time ban because he's useless and we don't want him, but that's besides the actual hit.

The hit itself wasn't especially egregious and saying Rinaldo only tries to hurt people is misleading to say the least. He isn't a huge malicious player and as far as I can remember he's never ended careers like Cooke or been as big of a pest as a guy like Avery was. It's just that his best talents are his speed and his hitting ability plus he's not good at anything in regards to quality hockey play. So all people know him for are these types of hits. He shouldn't be in the league because he sucks, but that's on the idiots who keep signing him and playing him within the Flyers.

It's amazing how dramatic some people are. I don't know if it's that they really have no clue what they're talking about or if they just don't care enough to a second and question if what they're typing makes any sense. It was a stupid, reckless, dangerous, and unnecessary hit... but the way some are acting you'd think it was some insanely dirty, once in a decade type of hit.

I can't stand watching him play for the Flyers and I wish we lived in an alternate dimension where the suspensions were up to me so I could kick his detrimental, idiotic, and irresponsible ass off of our roster and out of this league. Unfortunately for all of us, this isn't the case so the suspensions have to go by what actually happened. The hit itself was worthy of a ~5 game suspension, the fact that he's a repeat idiot is why it was 8.

I mean, look at what Neal got for kneeing Marchand in the head... 5 games. That was a far more malicious move than what Rinaldo did. Also interesting seeing people in the Rinaldo hit threads and the Neal hit threads with some inconsistent viewpoints on what's a dirty hit and what's not.

The point is, some people need to look at things with less emotion and more rational thought. I'm not defending Rinaldo at all, I can't stand him, but the comments on here are just ridiculous sometimes and I think some people need to think about what they're writing.

I would agree except for his comments. he deserved 8 games before he opened his mouth.
