Agreed...I'm rooting for the kid, but he's got an uphill battle with his size.

In recent years we've seen smaller players get more protected by refs. Our best D prospects are also mostly all big guys, so mixing in a smaller D should be doable if all goes well.

Connor McDavid has been the most dangerous forward. He's been robbed on three shots so far around the net by the Nucks goalie. He could have 5 points on any other night. Not surprising to anybody.

Wasn't the Vancouver color guy crowing at the beginning of the game about how 5 of the 6 Canucks defensemen were drafted. That doesn't seem to be a positive at this point in time.

He was saying all of them were drafted or signed lol, and how the orgs turned the corner.

Nurse will be with the Oilers to start the year. Guy is such a beast. So fast and so strong. His positioning and gap control may be slightly off at times but a guy with his speed will have that figured out quick.

I mean, he probably plays in the NHL at a 8/10 pace.

10/10 would probably cause a rift in space-time.

im satisfied with mcD....he is pretty good defensively. he looked so freaking aggressive at the start of the game and now he's just sort of geared down I think.

At any moment he has that ability to just skate through the D though.....I am not sure how much that is going to change in the nhl.

Virtanen imo needs to accept a fight at some point, players will lose respect for him if he lays all the big hits he does but shys away from fights.

Yeah, he's really got nothing to prove TBH but he's still there...putting in some effort. Just not 100% intensity from what I can see.
