Sam Reinhart
Always low profile but he does everything so well... PP-EV-PK, wins faceoff, passes the puck, can score. To me he's the tournament MVP so far way ahead of Domi and everyone else.

Reinhart has been shutting down the other teams top lines. He has been the tournaments top defensive center.

not sure if your noticing but who are they putting out when they need to shut down a PP? I think defensively its Gauthier

well Reinhart's two points in the final seconds of the game seem to show he's trusted in those situations.

actually defensively Gauthier has been Canada's best defensive center

lol no. He's been alright. Not a liability. But in no way shape or form has he outperformed Reinhart as a two way C. I didn't see him out there against Eichel the whole game. That was Reinhart.

He also got walked by Larkin on the US's last goal.

Reinhart and Domi start every penalty kill if they aren't tired. If Canada is ever 2 men short we will see who is out there to kill the penalty.

Andd thats the end of that discussion lol.

Isnt Reinhart usually the first guy on the PK? Seems like he always is.

I noticed Gauthier in a pure defensive sense more than Reinhart but what evs also Nylander>Reinhart :naughty:

Leads entire tournament in scoring and averaging 2 ppg; not one of the 10 best players in the tournament :lol: never funnier when you consider he plays in all situations, is just as much a shutdown center as an offensive one and has been a top player at every WJC. Don't get to see a lot of Reinhart on TV so the WJCs is when I mainly get to see him... And boy am I impressed and ecstatic to have him.

13 points in 11 games at the WJC-u20 . 13 points in 14 games at the WJC-u18s and 10 points in 6 games at the WHC-u17s. He has just been an incredible player at every world juniors/tournaments he's played in.

slight correction, this is only his 2nd world juniors. World under 18's and 17's are different tourneys. If I may, I'd rephrase your sentence to: he has 36 points in 31 games in international junior play. And if I may add I believe he's worn a letter at all 3 events. As a captain at u17+u18 and as an alternate at the U20.

But that's just me nitpicking

Haven't watched a ton of Group B, but from what I've seen:

-Reinhart
-Larkin
-Domi
-Nylander
-Reway
-Ehlers
-Bjorkstrand
-Buchnevich
-Honka

Toss-up after those 9 from what I've seen, very forward-heavy list too obviously

Saw Russia/Denmark and Sweden/Denmark live. Watched the Canadian games too and few other Group B games, so will make my list from that. In no order:

Ehlers
Reinhart
Domi
Duclair
Larkin
Bjorkstrand
Fiala
Nurse
Nylander
de la Rose

A pretty good list. Not having Buchnevich on your list this far is a crime. Should find a spot for Aho, though.

1 good game and Reinhart shoots up from 7th or 8th (or not even on some lists which is completely insane) to 1st/2nd?

He produced tonight and was great. But he's played like that since day 1.

I don't have any issue with Domi being the player of the tourney to this point (even if I do think that a certain centers two way play frees him up to do as he pleases) but I really do take issue with leaving Reinhart off of a list of the 16 best tourney players.

I am unapologetic about this

Domi and reinhart should both be on the top of this list imo, pastrnak also not getting noticed enough, he's been excellent.
