I am starting to see the guys are going back to their old habits with each passing game.
They are going to get bounced in the first round almost certainly, it's just the reality of this team and its ownership.I am starting to see the guys are going back to their old habits with each passing game.

NBA: Dallas and LA pulled off a most stunning trade with Lukas and Anthony Davis. A year after the Mavs made the finals. We saw Avs move Rantenan a couple of years after winning a Cup rather than weakening their depth by signing him (and Avs had to have known the cap was expanding so they didn't want to NOT have the excuse so they traded him BEFORE the cap ceiling was raised. Astute ownership).
Some teams go for it and constantly adapt to the changing reality and try to mold their teams to a ring, other teams are comfortable with assured mediocrity, the path of least resistance. I never thought Keefe was the problem, barring some dramatics, it will be hard to see Berube or any other coach being the solution though he will try of course. This is a personnel issue which only GM and ownership can solve if they had the courage and vision.
This team will need absurd goaltending and relentless D to win even a round.
To me the outcome of the trade doesn't matter as much as constantly and objectively re-calibrating and "going for it" does.Stop right there. That Mavs deal stinks to high heaven. It makes no sense whatsoever.
We ain't even close with the depth we have and Rielly being horrible.
Booing someone is ridiculous unless it's an effort level. Even then, no one knows for sure of there is a nagging injury.Yeah for sure. That depth though isn't taking us far or anywhere and Morgan can lose games for us in the playoffs on his own. Is the guy using hard drugs?
Rielly should be getting booed off the ice
Lost a step. He is worse than chewed up Dion or Jake Gardiner out there.Booing someone is ridiculous unless it's an effort level. Even then, no one knows for sure of there is a nagging injury.
If he has lost a step which it looks like he has that hardly seems like a reason to boo someone.
He has not been good. But my point is I don't see it as a lack of effort so I wouldn't boo him.Lost a step. He is worse than chewed up Dion or Jake Gardiner out there.

Well, I had not heard that but if true I would agreeLack of effort to me is coming in 30lbs overweight
Does the 5th in man games lost include HankyPanky and Jarnkok?Coaching staff has been okay for the injuries Toronto has had this season. I think we are 5th in the NHL with most man games lost.
Biggest problem has been ability to get offence from the team, can't tell if it's a coaching problem or a player problem. I'm leaning towards player problem. Top 6 of the roster has been fine, the bottom 6 has been brutal..
What did Ovi say exactly? If the premise of Berube was that he would come in here and bend the team to his will and reshape its soul and character, it feels the reverse has happened and more and more like he's acclimatized to the Maple Leaf way. That feel good, non offensive, nurturing low friction, inconsistent compete vibe, minimal self critique continues. Sure they can play the perfect Berube game once in a while, but the standards aren't really different than before.
The impact of dump and chase seems overstated in the way it has short circuited the team's skill and offense and production. Feels like it has exposed a lack of conditioning among many players.
Generally it feels like Ovechkin may have been right. Same team, new coach.
