For the Blackhawks.

Needs are draft picks and young players.

For sale

Lehner(depending on a extension with the hawks)
Crawford
Erik Gustafsson
Connor Murphy(No reason not to at least listen)
Olli Maatta
Zach Smith(Max retention)
Brendan Saad

Anaheim is on the same truck. I imagine Kings and Sharks are as well. Ducks are looking for picks. First rounders preferably. My opinion on only ones whom are arguably untouchable are Zegras and Lindholm. Everyone else is up for trade discussion. I would throw Gibson on that list as well. He’s still young, and has carried this team in his young Career that can help solve our rebuild in goal.

Only so many firsts available and picks available. I can’t wait for Red Wings fans chiming in. That franchise wants some as well for this beast of a draft.

For the Flames, I'd say we need to be careful not to spend too much in futures as we as a bit in short supply.

So if we spend futures it has to be for a long term piece. At this time I'd say RHS RW is the biggest need, especially now that Lindholm has been playing C.

carolina probably needs a goalie and definitely needs a better defenseman to add to
their top 4.

Flames:
Top 6 RH RW
Dependable Top 6 LHD (in case Juuso isn't healthy soon)

Pretty much it. If we could get one of those, we'd finally have everyone kind of playing where they need to be.

Stars could use a legtimate top 4 defenseman who can play ~20 minutes if need be ( RHD or LHD doesn't matter since Heiskanen can plays both sides well ) . Oleksiak and Sekera have been decent filling the role of the #4/#5 but there's some room for improvement.

Anything else i think we're fine. Maybe a depth piece i right now can't think of. Also depends on how healthy the team is at that point

I don't get this line of thinking, as another Stars fan.

Lowest GAA in the league, but we need D? Oleksiak has played to a middle pair level. John's may be our add on D.

A very low scoring team, but forwards are fine?

More bottom 6 fw depth than most teams, but we could use one of those?

Last year, Zuch ignited the offense after coming over, but, nah, no need to try to replicate that success?

We don't have assets for another Zucc . Even capspace is probably a problem to get the type of forward we would need that would help . Another puckmoving defenseman adds to the offense by the way . The lower pairs have problems moving the puck and can't help create offense. I think the Stars have the horses on forwards but could use another puckmover to help them get the puck in the right situations to score.

Available third pairing PMD would probably be terrible at D, and maybe prone to mistakes. We had one in Honka and couldn't get rid of him fast enough. The Stars are so prone to dump and chase, I wonder if a PMD would be wasted.

I hope Johns can come back to his former self, even at third, rather than second pairing skill level. He, if on top of his game (big IF right now, I know, but still probably as good as anything your could trade our limited draft picks for) is our perfect TDL (or a bit sooner) pickup on D. I bet they are counting on it. If not, Fedun and Hanley haven't been Godawful. I would expect the third pair to drop in minutes in the PO, unless we play a heavy team like the Blues, and Polak will be our team leader in minutes, LOL. Johns really would be more than perfect for that series. And the Stars think they lost last year because Jamie Oleksiak was out with injury. So, I think the Stars disagree with you, even if you have a potentially valid point.

Probably pretty accurate. Although like last year, where Hamilton struggled adjusting to new teammates and a new system (as well as a hand injury), I think they give Gardiner a little more time as he's doing the same right now. The last couple of games, he seems to be playing better, is less hesitant and playing with more confidence.

Wouldn't mind a little more center depth with Haula being in and out of the line-up, but with Williams now signed, they already have to sit someone among McGinn, Martinook, Foegele, etc... when everyone is healthy.

I in general don't think the Stars have the assets to add anything worthwhile. They're missing too many 2020 picks and i don't think the 1st this year is going anywhere because of that. They made their splash in the offseason so i don't think they will be able to add the the TDL with super limited capspace and only future picks . Every roster player has made a positive impact i don't think the team wants to disrupt anything by trading a piece ( only guy i wouldn't miss is Perry and well i doubt he has any value and he also has almost a NMC on his deal) that is contributing and i also don't think the team is trading any prospect thats looking even half decent .

The assets just aren't there this year to add.

Maybe a seller gets desperate and is willing to send someone worthwhile for next to nothing but outside of that i don't think the Stars can make a splash this year.

The best trade pieces will go to more desperate teams with more assets . Stars probably would need some GM to do them a favor for that not to happen.

Buffalo immediate needs:

- They could use a defensively responsible center who can play 2nd or 3rd line time.
- Physicality, speed, skill on RW
- A quality backup goalie

want to do first deal
Ras Andersson + Flames choice, either Rittich or Talbot.
for
Skjei + Georgiev

Cap compliant, slightly reduces cap hit per yr and upgrades Skjei with Raz. Would consider discounting Strome in follow up deal.

Andersson is practically untouchable. I'm not sure what you think Calgary is getting in that trade anyway.

1. was under false impression you had interest in Geo, did not know it was an Eklund rumor

2. Want to move Skjei for ballpark market less small discount, idea to get cap flexibility. I get Raz is better than Skjei. They are ballpark same term and $, RA a bit less. The hope was I could pay you a reasonable profit to cover the dif. Moving righty RA replacing w/lefty would mean room to extend both Brodie and Harmonic, then deal your surplus. But the profit would have started with Geo.

The only glaring need I see for the Pens is a replacement for Guentzel. Obviously that doesn't literally mean acquiring a 40 goal scorer, but they do need to acquire someone who is a legitimate top six scorer (ie. not just some guy who scored 15 goals in limited minutes who might explode next to Sid or Geno).

Needs: avoid any further injuries.

I wouldn’t mind adding one more Chris Kreider esque winger, but getting Sammy Blais back in a couple weeks might be just that.
