Nurse isn't even good. Wow.

What? You're kidding, right?

Second in goals (16)
Only Doughty, Burns and Chabot played more. (25:38)
SOG (4th)
+27
100 blocks (top 20)
And no one had more hits (117) and had more points than him.

He is a one of strongest two way D in the league, if not the strongest. And he did all that with modest expectations.

Guy is a do it all nut.

Welcome to the Jungle
Stop it he doesn't say that if hes completely retired.

Taking a regular season off in an Olympic year is smart. Shame it isn't easy for us to do this and not have to fight waiver claims.

Haven't seen a breakdown on what he/we would have to do to facilitate.
Yeah. I’m only tongue in cheek here. Making fun of myself really. Despite some issues i grade Sweeney pretty highly. I think he’s more of a poker player and I don’t trust his words in press conferences as much as I’d like. Otherwise I’m a fan. Neely as an executive on the other hand, I’m not a fan.

More like with Gryz you have HF posters and NESN panels shoving the analytics and homegrown boy narratives in people faces every day that it tricks you into thinking he’s a better player than he is. The fact is he is too small and injury prone to play as much as and in the role that he does. The eye test shows the Bruins D has been pushed around and bullied in the playoffs for several consecutive seasons, even with a diminished Chara.
Isn’t “shoving it in your face” just making a counter argument to your claim. It’s clearly not a fact that he’s too small and injury prone to play the role he has. To make a claim like that, the burden of proof is on you and calling an opinion a fact doesn’t make it a fact.

in the last two regular seasons, the bruins have scored 65g and given up 41 when gryz has been on the ice 5v5. Over that time the xG is 61 xGF and 44 GA. The advanced stat correlates well to actual results. All the chance data is overwhelmingly positive. In the playoffs all the chance data looks similar. The bruins hold possession way more than their opponents when he’s on the ice. Gf/ga is 11/18 while xG is 18/12. The xG data lines up with the larger regulator season sample and the underlying chance data. So if when gryz is on the ice in the playoffs they get more shots, more scoring chances, and more high danger chances than their opponents and the underlying numbers mirror gryz’s regular season numbers which over a much larger sample size yield very strong gf/ga numbers, the burden is on you to show the rest of us that discrepancy is because he’s small and not bad luck or random noise in a small sample.

JDB, Stud, & a 2nd for Dvorak. Arizona probably holding the line for a 1st. I wouldn't give up a 1st. That would be my best offer. Salary mostly lines up. AZ gets an NHL LW & a potential C replacement & a quality pick in a good draft. We get a 2C for the next 4 years at a good cap hit.

Marchy-Bergy-Pasta
Hall-Dvorak-Smith
Haula-Coyle-Foligno
Freddy-Nosek-Lazar

I like the look of those lines.

That's a hell of a forward group, and would be pesky AF to play against. Adding Dvorak gives Smitty a better chance at succeeding long term on the 2nd line since Smitty won't have to do as much heavy lifting in certain situations. Dvorak's motor is a lot like that of Smitty. He brings a heaviness to his game as well, which the top 6 needs. Dvorak becomes a Bruin, his game goes to the next level and he all of a sudden looks like one of the best contracts in hockey. More of a game-changing add for the Bs success this season than perhaps some folks understand. Enough to make the Bs a serious Cup contender? Well, that depends on the goalies and D (and injuries), but at least the Bs will be in serious conversation going into the season.

Me too. GO GET DVORAK! Move the pieces and take another real shot at this thing. Not to mention that it helps foe the future as well.

And here is my unpopular opinion, I have a feeling Forbort-McAvoy turns into a damn good pairing. Shades of Forbort-Doughty.

The way this Krejci thing is being handled, and honestly I include DK himself a little bit, is pretty bloody frustrating. All the power in the world to someone doing what's right for them. But make a decision. This waffling costs the entire team - how on earth do you consider a Dvorak not knowing whether DK will reemerge? Of course, there's the reality that we don't really KNOW the reality - maybe this is just pure spin by DS, but I honestly don't think so. It's a bit embarrassing talking about it with other hockey fans.

I don’t know why everyone can’t move on. DK made his decision , now the bruins will go internal or trade for a center. The ship has sailed. It’s not happening with him or Rask. It’s over!

I generally like Sweeney, but one thing about him that I don't like is that he is a master at that bullshit corporate-speak style where he says a lot without saying much of anything, and leaves himself a ton of wiggle room so he can't be pinned down. Maybe it's smart politics/media-handling, but it's so transparent and frustrating. I just tend to ignore what he says and wait and see what actually happens. As for the Dk thing, as you said, who knows what really was discussed and Sweeney isn't giving anything away. For my part, I am considering Krejci gone to the next chapter of his life and moving on from it.
