Your Rebuild Opinion? Next Move Coming?

Anyone have access to the full article ? Was just curious who this guy thinks we should trade danielson for 😂 can’t see anyone giving up a top young scorer for an unproven player

That Isaac Howard thing sounded interesting. Guy seems not be signing with Tampa (will be college-UFA after next season), so maybe he could join with us?

Trade Berggren's rights or something for him and then lock a deal with Howard?

Tampa Bay would not be left empty hands with Berggren.
Love this idea.

It’s gonna take a lot more than Berggren to get him

Kyle Connor got one year remaining this summer. If Winnipeg knows he's not gonna resign, they might be willing to trade him this summer. Might be something we can take advantage of.

Most important question is Larkin staying?
This team :
Not enough leadership, too many passengers, kids not ready to step up.
Next season great for tanking, so trade Larkin and Cat, bring 3-4 kids from GR, get true top 4 defansman and power forward.

Why would you trade those 2 to tank but also add a top 4D? Isn’t the whole point of trading them to suck and get a high pick?

Like I said in another thread, getting Gavrikov would be like adding our McDonagh.

I’d go as high as 6 years 8.25 mil. With the cap increases we can afford a defense corps of Gavrikov, Edvinsson and Seider making 8-9 mil each. ASP won’t make big bucks for 3 years.
AFP came out with their FA projections. Site is fairly accurate with as many low as they have high. Got Mo's contract real close (7x8.127) and were off a tad with Ray (7x7.75). Gav's projection is 7x7.6. No need to go 8x8.25. Ehlers projects at 6x8.1. Take both those in a heartbeat. Buyout Tank and you have 4+ to go after another D or F of your liking. Bennett is 6x6.6 if that's your liking over Ehlers. Donato 3x4.2 would be a nice upgrade over Tank to fit in on line 3 or 4, idc. This team would definitely be a playoff team by adding Gav/Ehlers or Bennett/Donato. And be set for a minute or two. I don't think SY is dumping Tank to probably just Gav/Ehlers or Bennett. Still like that lineup a ton.

Yeah, I have been pushing for Connor. He's a local guy, so he may be interested in signing here. Nearly all of our s**t contracts will be off the books when he hits UFA: Tank, Chiarot, Holl, Gustafsson, Mrázak with only Ed needing a new deal.

We need to target Connor as the piece to put us over the top.

Should we target the sharks in a deal?? If Grier resists yzerman can tell him he got a 2nd and a 1st and still hasn't received a call for future considerations and to quit busting his balls

Assuming they pick misa

Misa celebrini eklund smith must halttunen chernyshov

Maybe we can send them a dman for a chernyshov?? They have already eklund musty bysted on the left side

With islanders getting Schaefer most likely what are the chances we can get romanov without moving the 1st??

Love johansson but if asp eventually goes 2nd right d hes destined to be a 3rd pairing dman here

Johansson 2026 2nd and berggren???

Wallinder/buium and 2 2nds??

Top 4 longterm

Romanov seider
Edvinsson asp

Anyways islanders probably wont move him at least for another 2-3 yrs till Schaefer's ready for top pairing. We really need to get seider a partner

I hope so , but did we hear anything since press conference?

Probably no news is good news. If there was an actual rift between Larkin and management you would think something else would have bubbled up by now. He likely saw the Yzerman quote and realized its best to get to work on the off season and hold any further comments. If he wanted out or change, I am sure some twitter account or "insider" would be leaking something immediately.

He wants a guaranteed NHL spot from what they are saying which is why he turned down TB. Not a fan at all of these kids demanding spots when they could be not even close to ready. The NCAA is nothing close to the NHL, they should have to push their way on to the team. Raymond was 4th overall and even he didn't get a guaranteed spot. Even if he is ready, earn it!

trading away Larkin and Cat will tank this team no matter who you bring in defiance .

And will also piss the locker room and many many fans off to no extent. We keep getting hosed in the lottery anyway, so we could go 0-82 and be outscored 645-105 and still only get 3rd overall.

For the love of Pete can we stop mentioning future considerations, even as a joke. It is sickening at this point and futures are virtually always nothing, and at best a low tier player.
